Made late arrival reservation a month before with confirmation number. Arrived at night, after a long European flight to find they didn't have any rooms available. Don't take the chance of reserving here. They are known for over- booking.

Room Tip: Stay at the Westin, summer St, Boston.

SeaportGM, General Manager at Seaport Boston Hotel, responded to this reviewResponded 12 January 2012

Please accept our most sincere apology. On the evening of January 4, we found ourselves in an oversold situation and could not accommodate all guests with a guaranteed reservation. We made reservations for our guests at a four star hotel within one block, and paid for their accommodations. We provided each guest a $100.00 gift card to be used at Seaport, good for any services and valid for seven years. If returning, a guest will be upgraded and provided a welcome back amenity. On January 5, I reached out to the guests that were impacted and apologized but unfortunately, we did not have each guest's contact information. We very much sympathize with this guest’s disappointment after a long flight. This is an uncommon occurrence at Seaport and we take our responsibility very seriously, as we need to earn your trust every day. Our apologies again.

Kind regards,

James M. Carmody
Vice President & General Manager

I stayed here while at a conference and sight seeing in Boston. The hotel is nice and clean. I got a suite, which was small for a suite and not well lit, but the room was clean and had a refrigerator, nice views, and comfortable bed. The fold out couch was average. There is a restaurant / bar and coffee bar in th hotel lobby which were sufficient. The hotel is walking distance to other nice hotels. There is a very convenient subway stop in the hotel. Parking is expensive, but it is anywhere in the city. The hotel was fine, but a little expensive in my opinion. Also, there was a fire in the basement the night I was there and we were evacuated at 3 am in the cold of November. We were not compensated for that at all, just a "sorry." I guess that's okay.

we stayed at the Seaport 22-24 August with a family of four (2 kids aged 7 and 10). It was the last stay in the US before returning to Europe. we found the Seaport through tripadvisor and we were drawn to it because of its child friendliness, pool and availability of bikes.

Trip advisor was so right. we received a very professional but also very warm welcome after a long drive from the DC area. The welcome included staff taking care of our luggage and car in a very non-intrusive way, no doubt facilitated by the no-tipping policy which the hotel uses. Kids received a free welcome gift (not rubbish but actually something of good quality (toy or teddy bear)). Hotel room was comfortable, spacious and very clean indeed. The beds were a bit soft, but staff offered to take care of this (admittedly we had not expected this to be resolved so we only mentioned it at the end of the visit; staff seemed genuinely disappointed that we had not mentioned it before.)

we had dinner at the hotel with good friendly service. Pool was nice and very clean, well maintained indeed.

We have to mention the excellent service received from the concierge; we forgot to take his name but the young gentleman at the concierge desk was extremely helpful, again in a non intrusive way. We had visited the JFK Library and our son had lost his cap at the library. we asked the concierge for help and he took care of everything. he called the library and arranged for us to be able to pick up the cap at a later time.

we a;leo used the free (!) bikes to tour through boston. a lot more relaxt than cycling through NYC with a 10 and 7 year old, and tons of fun! We would suggest that the hotel puts a little more effort in the maintenance of the bikes, as they were not in top condition. the downside of them being free? we would be happy to pay for them instead as it is a great way to get around boston.

good places to eat nearby, including a legal seafood (including a test kitchen which was unfortunately fully booked when we were there). also plenty opt starbucks around the corner for an alternative breakfast.

all in all, a very good hotel, would certainly recommend for families!

Stayed for a night for a short getaway.

# Pros:
- Very pet-friendly, allowed us to bring our dog, no extra fees. BIG PLUS for us.
- Excellent and extensive gym, uptodate equipment.
- Close to some good places to eat, 7-11 across the street, ICA right there, subway (blue line) couple of blocks down, very walkable to downtown Boston/Chinatown/South Station (~15 minutes).
- Service was great, no complaints.
- Room was very clean.

# Cons:
- Swimming pool is a 3 lane lap pool, small.
- Parking is expensive (tip- if it's Sunday or a holiday, just park a few blocks down near the ICA at a meter, it's free).
- Food in the 1st floor is very expensive.
- Room was a bit expensive for what I thought we got (~ >$150 online), probably not worth the full price, but comparable to what is around the area.

Overall, had a pleasant stay. This area is still developing, but it's a fun place now. I liked the location a little better than the Westin. Would stay here again, particularly because it is pet friendly.

We stayed here over a long weekend for a family outing the hotel accommodations were perfect without exception. The only draw back was the longish walk back down the port area to downtown. We were un-familiar with the transit system so just stayed on foot.

The hotel was great, and the room was clean, nice and comfortable. The location has a few restaurants near it but not much else, but I think there are trolley stops nearby if you want to buy a ticket for the sightseeing trolley and get around town.

New clean modern hotel with very attentive staff. We were upgraded to a suite when travelling with our baby so we had a little more space. Free internet in the room too.

Being close to the convention centre is its selling point for business. But it is a shame the area has nothing else to offer yet for family or visitors. It is a bit of a hike into town, especially in cold weather, and there are limited eating options in the area yet. Probably will change over the years.

Otherwise, a great place.
