“Excellent boutique hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 October 2011

This is an excellent boutique hotel. We stayed here twice during our trip to New England. Once when we arrived in Boston and again two weeks later when we returned for our flight home, four days in total. The room on the higher floor was slightly larger and had more storage space than the one on the lower floor. Both times we were on the back of the hotel facing onto an office block,- not a good view but quiet. The location and accommodation are great but what really makes this hotel special is the excellent staff. Customer service could not have been better. The car service is a bonus. On the last night we splashed out on a meal in the hotel's restaurant, Moo,and it was fantastic.

Room Tip: We stayed in rooms on two different floors, the higher floor room was bigger. It is quiet on the back...

From the moment we stepped into our room, we were more than impressed and pleasantly surprised. From the cute mini "welcome" cookies/fruit plate to the adorable wooden crib to the size of the room. The fire place was quite a surprise and even toddler ok. The location was perfect as well, walking distance to everything! The room service from Mooo restaurant was delicious, plentiful and well priced. Service was great and efficient. This was the perfect hotel for any reason to be in Boston! We've traveled all over the world and have stayed in 6 stars hotel and this was up there with all of them! Thank you XV Beacon for a being one of the best hotels we've stayed at!

Great boutique hotel and a perfect location for the city. This hotel has higher-end appointments and the service is excellent. We stayed for four (4) days and the front office managers call you by name, etc. Ask for a room along the Beacon street side of the hotel - better views.

The complimentary Lexus service is a huge bonus - basically, just leave your rental at the hotel. If you're just staying at the hotel, take a cab from the airport. You're within walking distance of all of the Boston historical areas.

We recommend a walking tour of Boston as well. Be sure to visit the Holocaust Memorial - it is a very somber, yet moving experience.

Great hotel, great service, perfect room amenities. Stay here if you're in the city.

From the service, to the rooms, to the food, to the excellent customer service - I can't say enough about this hotel. You truly are treated like royalty and made to feel very welcome. Would stay here again in a heartbeat and have recommended this hotel to my friends and family. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!!

This charming, elegant hotel was perfect for our six day visit to Boston and we whole-heartedly recommend it. The location in Beacon Hill could not have been better. Staff is friendly, professional and always helpful -- and plentiful. The room was adequate in size with sufficient drawer space, although the bathroom was small (two people could not be in it at the same time unless one was in the shower, and a great shower it was). The furnishings were comfortable, especially the bed, and the decor attractive. A working gas fireplace was a bonus and added to the charm of the room. The amenities of the hotel make one feel pampered including a small plate of sweets on arrival, two newspapers delivered every morning (you choose which ones on check-in) which included the Sunday New York Times, turndown service that includes replacing used towels, bowls of apples and oranges on each floor and, best of all, the complimentary car service. The hotel has a sedan and a SUV, both Lexus, and one or two drivers (depending on day/time) provide complimentary car service within the city. Service that goes from the hotel can be reserved in advance. We had a plan of our activities and on arrival reserved car service for once or more each day. The driver then gives you his cell phone number, and when you are out and about you can call directly and, if the driver has time available, he will pick you up where you are and take you someplace else or back to the hotel. We tipped $5 each trip, but even more than the savings in taxi fares was the pleasure of being treated like royalty. There were just two things that marred what would have been a perfect hotel. The lighting in the room was inadequate overall (although bathroom lighting was fine) and there is no coffee service in the room or in the lobby. Coffee at the hotel's attached restaurant Moo is $4, expensive even for Boston. In fact, we ate breakfast there one morning and for two coffees, one bagel with cream cheese and one omelet (served with potatoes but no bread or toast) the bill with tax and the included 20% tip was $38. Fortunately, half a block away is a Dunkin Donuts, as well as a cafeteria (Monday to Friday only) and a small convenience store. We would definitely stay at XV Beacon again.

After our stay at XV Beacon, my wife and I wouldn't even think about staying elsewhere when in Boston. From the second we pulled up to the hotel, through checkout, we were pampered and treated like VIP's. All employees of XV Beacon are truly professional and put the customer first. The location of the hotel is great, as it provides easy access to all major attractions in Boston. Also, the room was very nice and had one of the most comfortable beds I have ever experienced. XV Beacon knows how to put the customer first and make them feel right at home. It is truly a 5-star experience and I would highly recommend XV Beacon.
