“Awesome and Historic Experience; great location!”
Reviewed 20 July 2012

The Marriott Custom House is such a beautiful and historic hotel! We had friends stay at 3 other hotels locally and by far, ours was the best! This location was near all the historical sights; no need to jump on a commuter rail or subway. Everything was right at our fingertips! Lovely staff! I already miss it!

This is one of Marriott's finer properties, located in downtown Boston overlooking the harbor. Quite elegant for a vacation rental, but there are two things which are bugging me as I write this. Like most vacation rentals, breakfast is not included. However you can go to the first floor dining room and sign ala carte for breakfast items. An attendant stands there with an eye toward cleaning up but also to prevent theft. Reminds me of a high school monitor and takes away from an otherwise more upscale atmosphere. They might want to switch to a per diem. Secondly, with rentals up to floor 23, powerful toilets are required, and the one on the 8th floor just interrupted my coffee for the 4th time.... You decide.

Great location overlooking harbor. Very small, but great, staff and public areas inside hotel due to small footprint of building . . . A negative if you are a people watching and hotel activity. Had a small suite, which was huge cor the price. Nice continental breakfast included.

While Boston is a small city, it's too easy to miss the appeal of the waterfront while visiting the areas near the Common or heading over to Cambridge. A stay at the Custom House offers a wonderful view of the waterfront and gives you a chance to pick around some of the older buildings on quaintly named nearby streets.

If you have kids, the Custom House offers lots of activities and encourages learning about the building itself. Steps away are both Quincy Market and the Aquarium, which are also fun for family vacations. Everyone will want to spend time up on the hotel's observatory level taking in a 360-degree view of the city, and the kids will love the game level with a view of some of the clock works.

The rooms themselves are pretty standard timeshare style and, of course, vary in size depending on the floor and corner. Because the views are so important, it can be tough to get a very high floor with the ideal view but give it a try.

Room Tip: If you're above the 19th floor, you'll have to ride two different elevators each trip. If yo...

Wow what a great location. Karen Connors is a world-class concierge. Stop by and see her for a few recommendations and a great laugh. She is wonderful. The staff was great. Location great. Observatory deck on top. Marble, stone, lots of history with this building. Quincy Market 1 minute out the door. Boston's number one rated Irish Pub out the door. Walking distance of the North End with great Italian restaurants and vibe. Harbour for boat tours 1 block away. Codzilla is fun if you have kids. It's a rock and roll speed boat tour that does doughnuts in the Harbor. No need to rent a car here. You ard right on the T. Great place!

This hotel?Timeshare is close to everything. Great restaurants and subway outside the door which takes you to museums, theatre district and china town. Microwave and small refrig in unit. You can also walk to the aquarium. There is a trolley which gives you all day access to many attractions example Cheers, Wrigley field, ships on harbor. There is entertainment off the bar area and the conceirge lets you know all that is going on. Great tour of the Custom House. This is a great trip and I will definitely return again!!

We stayed at the Custom House for a 2-night trip to Boston. We arrived around 3:30 and our room wasn't ready yet, which was a bit disappointing since people coming in right after us were given a room. I had also requested a high floor, but ours was on the 8th. So we did have some view but went up to the observation deck on the 26th floor for a 360 view which was absolutely amazing. (You must go up there if you stay here!). We waited in the lounge for our room to be ready and the front desk clerk came up to get us with our keys shortly after 4:00. She was very helpful in recommding restaurants. Our room was really nice, very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The bedroom is smaller than most other Marriott timeshares, but did still hold a king size bed. The pull out queen sofa was fairly comfortable for my son to sleep on as well. The kitchenette is fine for breakfast in the room and keeping drinks cold in the small refrigerator. The location of the hotel is excellent, near many tourist attractions. We didn't have time to see everything but what we saw of Boston was really nice. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
