“only the price....”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2012

the price is fine looking at the position where all the accommodation in the area are more expensive but the hotel is very old and it requires a refurbishment for being acceptable.
if you didn't find any other hotel at the same price or less you can stay there...but only in this case....

I don't usually expect much from hotels and there was no exception this time. The hotel is nice and clean. I loved the bed and the location. Those are the only things I really cared about.
I am, however, shocked that wifi isn't free for guests. And it actually sucks! On the other hand, fsq check-in gained me a free parking and 24 hrs of wifi and that's a nice way of social media use!

We bought this room through Hotel tonight and it was a great price! The lobby is plain and sort of drab and grey. It reminded me of hotels we stayed in Europe, only the rooms were much larger. Our room had a tiny bathroom with a sink outside the bathroom. But......it had a pretty nice flat screen.

Hopefully you are not going to spend your time ib Boston sitting in your room, the location is great, and very near some very pricey hotels. Near the Prudential building and shopping/restaurants.

Parking is available for $18 on property. The staff were accommodating and the Bell Captain was from Ireland and had worked at the hotel for 43 years. He was very sweet.

I would probably stay again for the right price.

Room Tip: If you get a room on the front higher up you have views but it is nosier.

Easy to get to & great location. We walked around Boston from here. Service was great and helpful. They even gave my daughter free wi-fi for 3 days although I would have expected the hotel to have it free for all guests. Room was decent, not extravagant. We were comfortable.

The only positive thing about this hotel is its location!!
Our reception when we arrived was not so polite.
The first room we were given had a leak from the air-condition,we ask immediately to change room and we were very rudely told that this was the only room they had available. (They offered to fix the leak).
After 5 minutes they called us in our room and we were finally given a room that looked like a hole!
It was in the back of the hotel, very dark, small, uncomfortable and with a very small and with weird arrangement bathroom (one of the weird things was that there wasn't place to hang your face towel!) The bathroom ceiling was full of mold.
The air-condition was making a terrible noise like a train.
After one night in this terrible room we asked again for a change but we've been told that the hotel was full.
We only moved to a decent room our last day.
And this is not a cheap hotel! For the price you pay they shouldn't charge you for parking and internet.
The funny thing is not that they charge you for internet access in your room but that you had to pay to use the only public PC in the lobby!!
They also didn't have adapters for European sockets.
The stuff was not that helpful at all with the exception of the cleaning lady and the morning receptionist (I think his name was Ron)
With that price you can find a much better hotel in the area for sure!!
Stay away from the Midtown!!

Room Tip: Don't stay there!! But if you have to, ask a room in the front!!

wasn't sure what to expect as I did very little research in advance. Funky, fun with a good vibe of smart travelers leaning on the young side but not rowdy at all. The staff is helpful and almost too eager to please.A bit of an overreach at times.
We felt welcome, safe and secure. Parking was easy, there is a nice outdoor pool in a courtyard,we only stayed for a night but felt we would happily return. I'd recommend bringing a cooler and some snacks with you. Only vending machines on premises.
The price was reasonable. Should be prepared for some walking, snug elevator or stairs.

We arrived at the Midtown in the pouring rain, conned by a taxi driver and slightly tired. Not a good start! We had previously stayed at Crowne Plazas and Radisson hotels durng this trip and were slightly dismayed to see the Midtown did not appear to be of the same standard. On entering the hotel we were greeted in a very friendly manner by the duty manager who on hearing of our five minute journey for 20 dollars was horrified and rushed out to berate the taxi driver and show his disgust at his behaviour. The manager (Mark) was amazing, nothing was too much trouble, he apologised profusely for the behaviour of the taxi driver and assured us that not everyone in Boston was out to con us. The hotel although not of the same showy standard as the previous mentioned hotels went way beyond them in respect of customer care. We were soon shown to our rooms, enjoyed the complimentary tea and coffee and advised where to go locally to get something to eat after our wet and late arrival. We stayed at five hotels during our trip and in respect of staff and making us feel feel valued as a customer the Midtown is the place to go. Don't be put off by what may appear to be an older less flashy hotel what you get here is old fashioned hospitality and there is nothing wrong with that!

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel. The front is on a main road so may be noisy.
