“Great small, perfectly located hotel.”
Reviewed 21 March 2011

Stayed in room 602 Mar 16th and 17th. We were traveling for leisure from SoCal for St Paddys Day. Location is ridiculously great.. Pubs, bars, and restaurants ( a lot) 3 mins away. Blue line from airport about 30 large steps. You are in the heart of the action.
The room was great. Very clean and quiet. I guess some people may think it would be small but it was perfect if you're going out and seeing the city and not just sitting in the room.. Service great. When making reservations I was going for cost. The big name hotels were in the 200's, this was 135 a night. Not one single complaint.

We were very happy with our stay here. The location wasconvenient to everything we had planned. The room was spotless, comfortable bedding and beautiful lighting. We get to Boston often ...we usually stay at a large chain hotel closer to our daughter's school...but were never impressed and prices were higher. We will stay here from now on. What a great find!

Excellent value. Have stayed here several times for one-night getaways from the kids.

Lobby: Clean, comfortable. Several computers with a printer set up for use. Free coffee/tea. Some might call the decor dark and uninviting, a bit industrial. Only staff is typically one person at the desk. They are businesslike and professional but not particularly friendly or welcoming. No lobby rest rooms. No vending machines.

No restaurant.

Room: Two options- atrium view (which means air shaft) and city view (which is usually a view of nearby tall buildings). Don't go for the view, unless you can pick a specific room. Bare brick walls with intriguing details left over from previous life as a factory or warehouse. Very comfortable beds, plenty of pillows. Roomy, with a table and chairs. Large flat-screen TV with stereo and DVD player. Baths vary in size from cramped to huge. No tub, just shower. Everything is clean and modern.

Generally quiet, but sometimes a little street noise from bars below drifts up.

No coffee maker in the room.

Location: Perfect for walking around downtown. Use Google maps to check it out if you are going to quibble over a few tenths of a mile to get to specific locations. Lots of restaurants nearby. Parking is a hassle, as *anywhere* in downtown boston. Expect to pay 2X for a room elsewhere with "free" parking.

This is a little gem of a hotel. The rooms where more spacious than I had anticipated - we had 3 suitcases & skis & there was still plenty of room. Great bathroom & large shower cubicle.
We stayed in an atrium room & I must admit that I did hear people talking downstairs in the lobby at around 7am - I think they may have been having a business meeting - which did disturb me a bit.
Don't let the outside appearance put you off - when we walked out of the metro I was a little taken aback by the semi - permanent (at least I hope it is) attachment on the front of the building - it looks like they have tacked a plastic bus stop on the front which does nothing for the kerb appeal of the hotel
Having said that it's in a great quiet location.
We'd definitely stay there again

All in all this was a great hotel in an excellent location. I was a little skeptical from the pictures, but am happy to say that they don't do the place justice. Our room even had a very sizable tv and surround sound system with full cable. Its somewhere between no-frills and deluxe. Free wi-fi, printing, coffee, tea and newspapers. Great dining recomendations and a very good rate (we stayed here on a special from hotels.com with our third night free). My only solitary, really minor complaint is that our room was next to a housekeeping closet, so every morning we would hear bumps while the staff rolled out the carts and vacuums. It wasn't bad enough to ask for a different room, just a bit annoying. Would highly recommend to friends looking to save.

Traveling somewhat randomly, we ended up in Boston and wanted this location for ease of access to the sights and good restaurants by foot and found the winter rates to be perfectly within our budget. We were delighted with the room, amenities and style of the hotel and received some great dining tips. Just wish the weather was better...we would have stayed longer. Directly across the street from the metro.
