“Great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

I recently joined TripAdvisor, but have used it many times to plan vacations and choose hotels based on the reviews that others have written.
My boss knew I was going to Boston for the first time and recommended the Marriott Long Wharf because of it's location. The price was out of my budget, so I searched for similar properties near the Long Wharf that were more in my price range - that is how I discovered the Harborside Inn. What a great place and perfect location! After a 4+ hour drive from NJ, we arrived around 10:30 am. Although check-in is not until 3pm, we were able to check-in early, allowing us to begin our day in Boston. There is no parking on the premises, however, there is a garage 200 yards from the hotel that offers a discount for guests of the Harborside Inn.
I reserved a city view room. The room was tastefully contemporary and well appointed with a flat screen tv, refrigerator and easy to use safe. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location was ideal - close to the Long Wharf, and walking distance to many attractions, including Quincy Market, Faneuil Hall & the Freedom Trail as well as the North End (aka "Little Italy")
I can't say enough about the staff! When I inadvertently threw out my parking ticket, Jared (without hesitation) walked over to the garage and explained what happened to the manager. Issue resolved! I would definately stay here again if I have the opportunity to return to Boston.

We only stayed one night but would definitely recommend. It's located near the harbour and the shops. Room was spacious and had nautical touches as well as a guidebook and easy to use safe. The only downside was that we were nearly not served the drinks we ordered since our IDs weren't American! If you're travelling by car it's a little difficult to navigate the one way streets but there was an underground car park not too far away.

My husband and I enjoyed our overnight stay at Harborside. We chose the Cabin...lower level with no windows. Clean and well appointed. The King size bed was very comfortable and everything we needed was there. Its location was perfect for walking to Quincy, Aquarium and North end restaurants, bakeries and cute stores. The challenge was the parking garage, but all worked out well. The hotel staff were knowledgeable and offered many suggestions for dinner choices.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, THE CABIN was perfect!!

We arrived late in the evening Saturday night and we were able to park our car right out front while we checked in with our bags. The nice gentleman out front Jarod who we say multiple times during our stay was very friendly and efficient. After asking if we had been to Boston before and what brought us here, informing him we were here for my boyfriend's birthday, he offered him 2 complimentary drinks and wished us a good stay and happy birthday :) I heard bostonians were nice and friendly but this was a great start. We even saw him a couple times on the street and he said hi :)
The hotel and room was all we needed; clean, spacious with a safe. They also had AC which was a saviour since we were there during 40C+ weather. The bathtub was a bit small but it did the trick.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Harbourside and we'd definitely stay there again. It's close to Quincy market and all kinds of restaurants. It's in the financial district so they're not open too late but we were able to find one open past midnight that wasn't a bar/dance club.

Room Tip: We said in the inner garden so it was quiet.

We love the 2 night stay at this hotel, we have the City View room. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is very nice and clean with huge shower. We love Starbucks located inside the lobby of the hotel to get some snack and coffee for breakfast. It is walking distance to all activities and the subway stop is in front of the hotel.

Great location and staff. Great room. But a bar that's near deserted, an in house Starbucks breakfast only, soap is the limit of bedroom toiletries ! all give the hotel a soulless feel. High priced. Look elsewhere, compare and decide what you need
