I must say that everyone, from the cleaning staff to the front desk attendees were exceptionally courteous! The café served coffee that actually tasted like the Starbucks that you get from a retail Starbucks location, too. But...the walls were paper thin in the sleeping rooms. Other quests were not load...but you could hear every word on the TV in the next room. The Gym was weak. You absolutely need a car, as you are away from everything.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone going to Boston. Easy access to city center on the red line subway, it's right next to the bay, wonderful , clean, and updated rooms, friendly and helpful staff.

The Double Tree on Mt. Vernon is directly off the rotary. You can easily hop on the train to get to Boston activities. The hotel staff were great and my son loved the warm chocolate chip cookies. The room have been newly renovated. It was nice to stay in a new clean room.

We asked for a quiet room when we booked. What we got was the second closest room to the vending machines at the top floor which turned out to have another disadvantage, namely being too close to the aircon on the roof, which made a terrible noise.

The hotel looks outdated from the outside but is greatly renovated. The rooms look fresh and really nice, so does the entrance. The bathroom has some issues like they forgot to mount a place for the used towels and the water tap is mounted in a way that even washing the hands would cause a flooding.

The hotel offers a free shuttle service which is greatly appreciated because the hotel is far away from where you most likely want to be in Boston. Problem is that this service is that much requested that we never were able to make it on top of the list and needed a taxi.

The management of this hotel is probably not able to run a house like this. The front desk team was not overly friendly and helpful but what really was at the lower end was the cleanliness of the public areas in this hotel. There was dirt at any given time and everywhere. We once saw the head of the housekeeping cleaning the elevator. With dirty water and an even more dirty wiping cloth operated with her feet she was distributing the dirt evenly. The room was ok.

The next and unexpected downside was the breakfast service. Before we experienced this hotel we had no idea how inefficient, slow, unfriendly and just bad a breakfast service can be. The hotel offers a Starbucks-like service, where you get overpriced food and coffee from the lower end of the quality scale.

Employees were very helpful - went out of their way for us. With free shuttle service to south station in Boston, we were able to get anywhere in the city easily for sightseeing. Management at this hotel seems to be making changes and improvements - great attitude.

The staff was amazing and took care of our every need. And we were pretty 'needy.' Having Starbucks in the hotel was great. Rooms were recently redecorated, so they were very comfortable and well done. Shuttle to/from airport and several other locations a real plus! But it was the staff that made the difference for us. Such excellent customer service is pretty rare these days, and they were the best!

Believe it or not, this is the very first review I've ever written. I have traveled more than 10 years in over 30 countries worldwide. (Just to give you a background on this review)

Very pleasant experience! The staff is very attentive and some of the staff knew my name and greeted me each time they saw me! The driver of the shuttle bus is very helpful!

Yes, it's true, the restaurant doesn't offer much, but this should not be the reason for you to stay in a hotel. They offer burgers, fries and some pizza. Same for breakfast, not super, but enough to get you full.

I would for sure stay here again if I'm in town! I don't understand the negative reviews!
