“Good downtown value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

This "business hotel" is a gem in the Financial District of downtown Boston, especially on weekends. It is walkable to transport at South Station, and many nearby bars, restaurants, and tourist sights as well.

Check-in was easy after the desk clerk explained how to use the nearby key kiosk.

The room was small, but clean and comfortable. Free "bottled water" was available from a machine in the hallway.

The bed was a bit hard, but might be to your taste.

My only "complaint" was that the street noise starts early and goes late--but you are in the middle of Boston after all so....

Their twin property, the Elephant & Castle pub, is exactly what you might expect in a Brit tavern experience, and makes for a nice extension to the otherwise dull lobby / breakfast area.

It is also a good place to host a small event or meeting, or just to relax and enjoy the world walking by outside the front windows.

Room Tip: Go as high as possible if street noise will bother you.

My room is medium size but feels sleek and modern. There's a cute lobby with a machine that makes lattes, coffee, cappucinos and tea.

The location is near downtown, Boston Common and Chinatown but the street is relatively quiet.

Service has been excellent. Gym is small but they say they will bring an ellipse or yoga kit to your room!

Renovated building conversion catty-corner from the federal courthouse in the financial district - three blocks from the Boston Common, one block from the State Street T and 1 1/2 blocks from the Downtown Crossing T, five blocks to Chinatown. Small room but all one needs is there -very sleepable bed, easy chair excellent office chair with a small desk. Shower but no tub which is fine by us. Weekend features a lack of traffic on street or by foot as surrounded by offices!

I have been traveling the last 12 years and this was the first time I stayed in the hotel. I was standing in front of the front desk 20 min and there were two guys on the front desk and any of them would not want to greet and ask me at all. I approached them and said to them that I had a reservation and the respond was as if I am looking for shelter. There are different guys at the front desk and it seems like they have been told to ignore customers. I and my co-workers very upset about this very unprofessional poor customer service. They are not friendly at all. The room is clean and small and Bathrooms just have showers they have free tea and coffee making facilities in the room and coffee machine in the club room. If you are expecting a good greeting this is not the place to go.

We booked the hotel 4 months in advance through booking.com and gave them a credit card to hold the room. The day we arrived, the hotel informed us they canceled our reservation because Visa didn't go through due to us getting a new card [due to Target security breach]. The hotel decided to wait until the day we arrived to call us while we were in flight and then when we arrived they informed us that they didn't have any more rooms. That is a very poor way to run a hotel and to treat guests.

Perfect for a business trip - great location (near South station. Drinks and snacks available all day, and a restaraunt attached. Very friendly staff too.
Only downside is breakfast isnt included and the room is quite average for the money.(but boston is expensive!)

All in all a very good stay!
