Ward Meade park is an old prairie town brought back to life. There are several community events held there throughout the year. My favorite is the Holiday Happenings Christmas dinner held the first weekend in December. Volunteers dress up in period clothing, a feast is served while musicians play harps and other stringed instruments, cookies baked over an open fire are served, and you can take a short ride on the pull cart at the old depot. The Cider Festival and the Tulip Festival are also wonderful times to visit this location.
