“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

My family stayed at this hotel and we were so excited about the facility. The pool was clean, the rooms were big and very up-to-date with large HD tv's, play station connections and the work area was large as well. There is a small kitchen area with a small fridge. The bed was separated from the fold-out sofa. The only thing that is noticed but is going to be worked on is the bathroom. The towels are thin and the caulk needs to be redone. The tile was cracked but the sink was quite spacious. I will stay here again!!!

Room Tip: Ask for the double queen beds for an upsized room.

Thank you for taking the time to express your experience at the hotel, both good and bad. We know that it is always easy to tell people what they are doing right and what you really enjoyed, it is not so much fun to tell them about a problem that you had. We do appreciate both, it allows us to improve so that next time you stay it will be 100%. We addressed this situation immediately and had the unit inspected and cleaned. All is well and we sure hope to see you again in the future.

We stayed two nights here and enjoyed our time there. We had a 3rd floor room and had very few problems with noise as we were away from the elevator. We liked being on the 3rd because we could just take the stairs up and down to the pool.

The pool is nothing fabulous but it's nice. One thing is that the corners get kinda dirty and oily. Unfortunately that's where the ladder is so you run the risk of getting slimy while getting out.

We had zero problems with the free wi-fi although I don't think they were particularly busy. We had three people online in our room alone with no problems or delay.

Breakfast was good although a bit fancy for our taste. I'd have much rather had biscuits and gravy than a biscuit with guacamole, turkey, egg, and tomato. They had a good selection of cereals, some bagels, some donuts, and toast. The juices were excellent. Coffee was Starbucks which I don't particularly like but early in the morning, beggars can't be choosers.

The customer service was amazing. Everyone was always friendly and helpful. My only suggestion would be to have spare cables (HDMI or RCA) available for those people who forgot to bring them.

It is conveniently located on 6th street so we were able to get to the zoo, capital, and numerous other attractions in no time. Plus the fact that it's near Wannamaker, makes it close to all shopping and restaurants.

If I were going need to stay in Topeka again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. My only real complaint is that there wasn't any sort of "in the area" type of brochure in the room to let us know about the restaurants, shopping, etc. We had to get online to try and find this information.

Good Afternoon! Thank you for the awesome review of our property. I am very sorry that you were not given our Visit Topeka magazine that we have here at the hotel. It is a magazine that lists all of the activities, restaurants, bars, etc. in the area. It even has a map. The next time you are here, you can ask the gallery host at check in and they will be glad to provide you with one. There are also some magazines located in the brochure rack right by the public restrooms. We hope to see you soon!

We have stayed here on our way to Minnesota and on the way back to Texas the past 4 summers. We have 4 kids and two small dogs. The same great hospital it and service every time! Wonderful staff! The breakfast is great and has the appearance and taste of a bistro.

We go to Topeka, Kansas annually and have tried most of the motels. They each have had glaring deficits. The Hyatt Place seems to be the best of the lot. The young people at the front desk are friendly and very helpful. Their complimentary breakfast is modest but adequate with the surprise of wonderful Italian coffee. Their king size bed was firm and comfortable and the room was spacious as it had a modern sectional sofa that opened into a sofa bed if needed and a large, flat screen TV. True, housekeeping forgot to leave us hand towels and true the electricity in the entire hotel went out for about 1/2 hour in the early morning and no one said a word which made us feel that this was not a very unusual event BUT it was comfortable, clean, and very reasonably priced. Did it compare in any way to a fine hotel ? NO, but neither did the price.

We do appreciate both, it allows us to improve so that next time you stay it will be 100%. I apologize about the electricity situation. Apparently someone had ran into some sort or transformer up the road, so we were also unaware of why the power was out until it came back on. We are so terribly sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. We hope to see you again.

This Hyatt is within easy access to I70 heading to Colorado. I was impressed by the simple but effective foyer and also the personnel working at the desk; they were very helpful and personable (as were the staff cleaning the rooms) - that was a good start to our stay! Our room was very comfortable and clean; the only issue I had was with the pillows. I jokingly mentioned it the next morning to the clerk as we were leaving, but he took note of it and wrote down the comment. Who knows? Maybe the next travelers will fare better in the pillow department. There was also a small bar that was actually utilized by the hotel patrons, and we also took advantage of it for an after dinner drink later in the evening. Also offered in the price is a breakfast the next morning. There is even a choice of HOT meals as well as continental fare. Definitely value for the money!

Room Tip: Choose a room on the back of the hotel away from the noise of the interstate.

Good Afternoon! Thank you for letting us know how we are doing. Hopefully during your next stay your pillows will be more to your liking. We do offer two types that include foam or feather. If you would like all one or the other you are more than welcome to ask and we will accommodate you to the best of our abilities. See you in the future!

My husband and I talked and think this was our first stay at a Hyatt......and I think it will be a chain we will use again. It was roomy with a small sectional and a kitchen type sink with plenty of counter space near bathroom sink. My only complaint was the double beds. Why in this day and age most hotels do not have queen beds is beyond me. It was clean and everyone friendly! I'm glad we stayed here!

Good Afternoon! Thank you for letting us know how we are doing. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. As far as the double beds, I think in order for the room to be a spacious one with room to move around double beds was our best fit. We do have king size beds with queen size sofa sleepers. The double bed rooms also offer a queen size sofa sleeper. Hope this helps! Have a great day!

We used the Hyatt Place for our Topeka conference mid June. Our guests appreciated the hotel staff, accommodations and location.Connie, director of sales,is the most positive, responsive and organized facilitator. Rasha, manager, greets all with a smile and helpful spirit. Kiera at the front desk also very positive and helpful. Breakfast is great. The rooms are spacious. The grounds are beautiful. The location provides easy access to interstate 70 and shopping locations yet the surrounding area makes you feel like you are in a rural setting with a lovely walking path nearby. Highly recommend!!
