“Great room with lots of space and a great view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 January 2014

We stayed in the Junior Suite and it looked exactly like the hotels web page photo. Nice large room with kitchenette, sofa and chair, desk and flat screen TV. The restroom was large and had a large soaking tub shower combo. The pillows, all 6, we're thick and nothing like the down pillow I'm used to. The windows in the room are single pain and the noise level on Friday and Saturday nights is very loud. At times it sounded as if there were a party outside our tenth story window. I would recommend ear plugs. The location is great! If you want to stay in the Gaslamp district I would recommend this hotel despite the noise level. The price was cheap for what your getting. The hotel keys are transmitter type plastic cards and can be effected by other magnetic strips, so keep the key away from credit cards in your wallet.

We stayed at this hotel overnight a couple weeks ago and really liked the feel of it. We chose this hotel because we wanted an affordable suite, and the room was perfect for our needs. The hotel had a nice vintage feel, and we loved that. The room was very comfortable as well. "Breakfast" was included and while it's on a very nice rooftop, it was just a continental breakfast.

It was also located in a lively downtown area, and while that is certainly a positive, our room happened to face the street. Which meant we could hear everything from the bars across the street and at the corner, all the car alarms, and had some difficulty sleeping. If I did it all over again, I'd require a room off the street.

We had never stayed here and were a little worried about staying in such an old building. When we arrived at 2:30 they told us our room wasn't ready but it was worth the wait. The offered to hold all of our luggage and told us it would be about an hour. When we came back they put us on the 10th floor and we had a corner room. This was a 2 room and 2 bathroom suite. It was very nice and up to date. My wife even commented on how clean the bathrooms were. We will definitely be back.

Dear Guest,
What a wonderful review. We are very happy you enjoyed your stay with us in this "old historical" building that turned a 100 years this year. Our staff is doing a wonderful job taking care of this building and making sure our guests are enjoying their stay. We hope to see you back here soon again.
With best wishes for a prosperous and healthy 2014!

My friend and I stayed in the gaslamp plaza suites for 1 night. It's is right in the gaslamp quarter so walking distance to pubs and restaurant and the harbour. The room we had was absolutely beautiful. Living area leading into a double bedroom and ensuite. Accommodation is a little pricy in this area but you're paying for the location. Breakfast isn't included and they only have valet parking which is dear. There was a mix up with my booking and I was double charged but I was given free parking to compensate. Although thankfully I double checked this because I was actually charged for parking upon check out and had to be reimbursed. Other than this we really enjoyed our stay and would have liked to have stayed longer.

Right in the heart of the Gaslamp District, this classic old-school hotel was a seriously great deal at $99/night. Due to the low season timing of my visit, I ended up in a suite. Great mattress. Huge room. Good TV screen. What a score! The free b-fast leaves something to be desired, but as others have noted, the view is superb. Check-in was easy. The morning check out staffer was incredibly kind and friendly. Internet access will cost you plenty, however.

Fantastic place to stay, Great and friendly staff. The rooms were big and comfortable and the views from the roof top were of the best in San Diego. Location is well located, close to all major bars, restaurants and attractions around the city. Highly recommended!
