We have been coming to the Beach Cottages for 30 years, it is th best place to stay in San Diego. We always took our children and now we take the grandchildren, our grown children come down too. We love the West view and the cottages right on the beach. The apartments i n the main building are very nice too. Everything is in the room, refrigerators, microwaves, dishes, silverware. We love Ralphs, we go shopping there and barbecue in the courtyard of the cottages and play ping pong with the kids. Walking distance to great places and the best is you are right on the beach. We leave the windows open and listen to the ocean while we sleep. There is a real good place to eat right out front, The Green Flash. Real good food. We will always come to the Beach Cottages.

Room Tip: The main aparments are a little quieter. And the greatest views.

Our family of 3 children enjoyed our stay very much. Staff was great and super helpful with any questions we had and even used their internet to get us bicycle information on Coronado. Hotel is just 5 steps from a beautiful, clean beach. FREE and ample parking which is very hard to find at most other beach front hotels. Rooms are very clean and even the motel rooms include a microwave, mini fridge, sink and dishes! Only negatives are no pool or AC but rooms do have ceiling fan and table top fans also. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel that has patio dining. The North Tower was used for the younger, college aged crowd and even with our balcony door open for the cooler air, we slept with no noise at all. I have been telling all my friends about this great spot and will be staying here for years to come, just maybe not in the summer.

If you like quaint, homey, comfortable and the beach as your front yard, you need to stay here. The Beach Cottages are full of charm and friendliness. We have stayed here before and we WILL stay here each time we come. The 1 bedroom apartments are perfect for a family with kids. Complete with kitchen, living room and dining room and fun! We love the Beach Cottages, it is our home away from home!

We've been coming to the Beach Cottages annually for the past 8 years and always enjoy our stay!
The staff is friendly and professional and the accommodations are nice and close to the beach, shops and good restaurants. It's a great place to stay and I recommend to everyone including families.

Room Tip: The 2 bdrm 2 bath suite is awesome with a well stocked kitchen to use.

My Husband's family first introduced me to "The Beach Cottages" about 20 years ago when I first started dating him. They always booked an entire month, we usually stayed with them for a week. We stayed in a cottage 3 back from the beach. The cottage is was large enough to sleep 4 people very comfortably and it is just steps from the beach. The cottages are decorated very nicely and the staff are very accomodating. We slept with the windows wide open so that we could hear the ocean waves, very relaxing. There are plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance and there are plenty of little shops for those who are like me and need a souvenir from every place that I stay. Another perk is that the Crystal Pier is right down the boardwalk. The cottages have kitchenettes with a small set of dinnerware and silverware, so you can bring food and prepare it there, there are also barbeques as well. It is a family friendly place with ping pong tables for the kids. If you want to be close to the beach with all the comforts of home, the Beach Cottages is the place to be.

Room Tip: The cottages facing the beach or the beach front cottages have a tendency to be quite noisy during p...

Our family has the best time staying here! It is our 5th or 6th time. We stay in either rooms facing beach or the beach front cottages, have learned the annex behind Joe's Crab shack is too noisy. We slept with the windows open and listened to the ocean all night, awesome. The location is great for us. We park in the parking lot and walk everywhere all weekend. There is a grocery store and coffee shop right behind hotel, tons of restaurants, shops, bars, anything you care to do when your not enjoying the beach and Crystal Pier. Most of the rooms have kitchenettes, the kids love the ping pong tables... very low-key relaxing place to stay.

Room Tip: It is worth the money to get a cottage, but the rooms in the main building (facing ocean) are just a...

We (2 parents & 2 grade schoolers) stayed for almost a week with another family and quite enjoyed it. The place could use some updating but everything was clean. We loved having a full kitchen and separate bedrooms for the children and the proximity to the beach can't be beat. The children also enjoyed the kid-sized ping pong table and shuffleboard. We loved that it was in a real neighborhood with regular stores and not just tourist shops.
