This is a great spot to view the harbor and coast. There is a nice visitors center and the lighthouse is a “must see”. This is a beautiful area to explore with lots of easy walking paths. Don’t miss the lower drive and the tide pools.

We took the Grand kids for a history lesson and it was well worth it. The staff made it special when they let the kids be involved withe the lowering of the American flag at the end of the day.

A trip to,Cabrillo is a must on a trip to San Diego. The park is close to the end of the peninsula and there are many things to see. Great outlooks which give you phenomenal views of the city and the Pacific Ocean. You are really high up!!! The lighthouse and tidal pools are highlights. You can get in with a senior national park pass for free. Park and walk and explore.

Great views plus historical perspectives in exhibits at the center. The lighthouse is cute but a bit crowded. Tide pools are best when the tides are at their lowest which means fall and winter months, not so much spring and summer. Price is per car and is good for a week!

This is the first place I take my out of town guests so they can get a 360 degree view of the San Diego area. The drive through the Cabrillo National Cemetery is one of the most beautiful drives in California, so make time to stop at the cemetery which has to be one of the most beautiful in the world with the ocean on one side, and the San Diego bay on the other. It's so peaceful to walk among the tomb stones and reading the names and dates of those buried will bring a tear to your eye. Cabrillo itself is amazing, has a nice little gift shop, the spiral staircase to the top floor is fun for the kids, and the whale viewing area is very educational. Don't miss this place on your next visit to San Diego!
