I stayed at the Hotel Indigo a few months ago to celebrate a family event. There were about 10 of us in different rooms and all of us were really impressed with this hotels style, location, and friendly staff. The hotel and it's rooms have such a cool, sleek style to them. The design is really bold yet the furniture, beds, bathroom were all comfortable and highly functional. It is in a prime location as it is about a 5 minute walking distance to everything in the Gaslamp Quarter. None of us used our cars once. It was extremely relaxing and the staff was really very accomodating to all our questions. We hung out in the hotel bar quite a bit as it has a spectacular view of downtown San Diego and has fire pits and delicious drinks. We also had breakfast in the downstairs bar/restaurant. It was delicious. If you're looking to treat yourself to a top notch experience I highly recommend this hotel. I have no complaints!

We stayed here in New Year's Eve before switching to the Solamar Hotel(where we really wanted to go and had already made reservations). We had to pay full price ($200+) but came out with the feeling that it was worth every dollar we spent.

The staff at Indigo were truly helpful and friendly, even though the hotel was packed and they were slightly overwhelmed. We asked for a quiet room at a high floor and got exactly that, with nice views of the Gaslamp district. The rooms are very modern and at the same time very functional. Extremely comfortable beds, very well designed bathroom, coffee machine in the room. Really there was little that we look for in a hotel that wasn't there. Moreover, the hotel just opened in July 09 so everything is brand new.

One caveat: valet parking is very expensive at $30 plus (this is apparently customary in similar Gaslamp district hotels). If you will be using your car during the day it is very much worth leaving it in one of the numerous parkings of the district ($10 to $15 a night).

Overall, 100% recommended

We visited CA to go to the Rose Bowl from Ohio and started our trip in San Diego at the Hotel Indigo. Hands down the best hotel of the whole trip. Excellent, friendly staff, pristine lobby and rooms, the bed and sheets were to die for! Room is cozy yet modern. Good size room and bathroom with great glassed in shower. The price was excellent for what we got. I would recommend self parking (only one block away), otherwise, the hotel charges $32 per night for parking. Hotel room doors slam loud, but I wear earplugs so didn't bother me.

Nice hotel. Fresh with hip decor. DIdn't like the orange hallway on our floor, but the lobby was lovely, as were the rooms and giant bathroom. The beds were SUPER comfy, the flat panel TV fab and Aveda bath products a nice touch. I only wish they had affordable suites! Also, the female bar tender downstairs was very slow and didn't seem interested in serving us (didn't seem very friendly or professional for such a nice venue). All the rest of the staff was fantastic and very helpful with all of our questions. Good location for doing the Gaslamp area or business at the convention center. Parking was way overpriced though, so we didn't get a rental car until we changed hotels.

We had an amazing time! We are so grateful to a young gentleman on staff there by the name of Dieter Schmitz. From the moment we walked in, he made us feel welcome and attended to without being overly intrusive or too nosy. He made wonderful restaurant recommendations and also gave us the low down on the local nightlife! The room was also amazing because of the marvelous view, luxurious bathroom, and cloud-like bed! We were sad we were only there for one night! We will definitely stay there any time we are in San Diego! We loved Dieter!
