Owner description: This bustling walking area on the east side of Balboa Park is home to many museums.

Fun place to walk around and hang out with friends from out of town. Museums are abit pricey. Macy's has a deal in the spring that gets one in a reasonable cost and I think, there is a month where on certain weekdays, museums are free.

Take a rest and escape to the Casa del Prado. If it's Saturday, you will hear some fabulous music floating from the second floor. It's the musicians of San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory learning and rehearsing. With ages from five on up, there something for all ages to enjoy and the rehearsals are open to the public. But be polite as you slip into an empty seat. These students value their focused learning environment.

heard wonderful things abour el prado, the view was great, the crowd great......BUT......i ordered through the servers recommendation a specialty burger with again, a specialty martini, again recommended by the server.
burger was like sand.......except perhaps a bit dryer.........
the martini was warm and weaker than weak with the martini glass less than 1/2 full.
heard wonderful things about this place, especially from the hyatt regency's concierges..but it was not good at all.
the view was great though......
that is the best i can say about this experience.

The Spanish/Moorish influence is wonderfully executed with fountains and terraces dripping with colorful flowers. The bar always has interesting tapas and drinks. A pleasant respite!
