“interesting place, somewhat expensive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 September 2013

This is a fun learning place to visit. It was expensive but aren't most things in California? It was something to do while we were here and I would recommend it for families. My Husband and I enjoyed it!

“Fantastic museum!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2013

Our family of five highly enjoyed our visit. I agree with other reviewers that the price is a bit steep, but it really is a lot of fun. Most of the planes are replicas, but who cares? The 4D shorts are a lot of fun too. Many of the docents volunteering there are retired pilots or aerospace engineers, and they are so friendly and added so much information that is difficult to gain from just looking at a historic plane. I wish they offered a reasonable family membership.

“Not cheap”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2013

The museum has a lot of "mock" planes in a very limited amount of space. Very few of the planes on exhibit have ever flown, or been capable of flight. It will only take two or three hours to cover the entire place (I did not pay for the Ripley's portion of the museum). They do offer some discounts (military, senior, etc.) so check tourist books before you go.

“For the aviation and space enthusiast.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2013

I was on a bus to visit Balboa Park and this was the first museum we came across. Some of it is interesting but it really is for those who are fascinated with (mostly) military aviation and space exploration. Did not visit the Ripley's exhibit. Spent a couple of hours there but that included lunch .

“Lots to see, not a lot of hands on stuff.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2013

This museum won't take a lot of time to go thru, unless you pay the extra money for the Ripley's exhibit. Still won't take much time to go thru. Mainly looking at things, only one hands on room for the kids. Best part is the 4D movies. There are four of they and you can see them all in about 30 mins. Not for those who get motion sick easy. The chairs move.
