“For The Air Aficionado”
Reviewed 1 October 2013

The San Diego Air & Space Museum is probably a big hit for air enthusiasts. For your average person there was nothing amazing that stood out as overly exciting. There are lots of exhibits and lots to check out for sure. We also visited the temporary Ripley's exhibit which was somewhat disappointing, probably a 2 star rating max.

“Lots of fun”
Reviewed 7 September 2013

Visited with my 9 year grandson....everything was special for him....we especially enjoyed the Ripley's Believe it or Not area....way before the internet....we bought the geographic book and he can't put it down. He enjoyed the movie/roller coster ride and the fun ride that simulates real movement....we spent several hours and enjoyed every minute. The docents were extremely helpful and made us feel special.

“interesting place, somewhat expensive”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

This is a fun learning place to visit. It was expensive but aren't most things in California? It was something to do while we were here and I would recommend it for families. My Husband and I enjoyed it!

“Fantastic museum!”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

Our family of five highly enjoyed our visit. I agree with other reviewers that the price is a bit steep, but it really is a lot of fun. Most of the planes are replicas, but who cares? The 4D shorts are a lot of fun too. Many of the docents volunteering there are retired pilots or aerospace engineers, and they are so friendly and added so much information that is difficult to gain from just looking at a historic plane. I wish they offered a reasonable family membership.

“Not cheap”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

The museum has a lot of "mock" planes in a very limited amount of space. Very few of the planes on exhibit have ever flown, or been capable of flight. It will only take two or three hours to cover the entire place (I did not pay for the Ripley's portion of the museum). They do offer some discounts (military, senior, etc.) so check tourist books before you go.
