The hotel is very nice with a lot of help throughout the property. Very helpful at the front desk and the location is great!

Room Tip: Ask for a view out front and above 5th floor

We stayed here one night to finish our 10 day southwest road trip and went to a Padres game and drive back to Denver for our flight back to the east coast. really wish we could have stayed longer. hotel was great with the funniest guy (Carlos) checking us in. Stayed in room 1201 which had a wonderful view of the city. Room was HOT while the Padres game was COLD even in July...if you are coming for a baseball game this is the place with the stadium 2 blocks over. just remember to bring a jacket for night games!

We spent two night here in a spacious, clean, well-equipped and comfy suite that is a great value. The hotel is a perfectly located in walking distance of all the hot spots for food and fun, even the waterfront--a great hub from which to enjoy a great city. Our one complaint was a city block party for a corporation with a band that got too loud for us even on the 11th floor. However, upon hearing the complaint, the next morning the staff knowingly apologized and waived all our valet parking fees--how good is that! All in all we believe it's the perfect spot for a SD getaway--not super luxury but so hospitable!

We were coming to san Diego for the first time for our 1 yr wedding anniversary. After arriving and checking in at another brand and hotel, we were so disappointed we were calling marriot to check local availability. Alejandro on the resv number was so accomadating and apologized for our bad experience elsewhere and did everything above and beyond to get us in a better hotel and where we had actually wanted to be. We arrived at the residence inn within the half hour of making the reservation, to find the staff was expecting us, and knew it was our anniversary. Without information overload they gave us a map and suggestions and told us to stop back for questions or help. The room was phenomenal, and lacked the street noise of the first one we had been at. The pool is a great retreat, breakfast amazing, and all around modern and homey. The staff is top notch and super friendly, Cathy at the front desk was accomadating and remembered our anniversary and even made us reservations for our dinner and just all around wanted to help and we're genuinely interested in helping, not like it was a bother! We have stayed at hotels all over the country, including a "5 star" hotel in d.c. Right near the white house, and I truly felt more spoiled here than anywhere else! A hidden gem and we will be back and telling all our friends!!!
