Quick drive to the beach, Sea World, the zoo and lots of other things. Fenced yard is great and the place was well stocked. The futon in the living room was only a full and was broken but the staff dropped off a queen air mattress that was great.

“small but nice”

who said that this cottage is close to the beach? Last night we walked the 2 blocks and found a cliff overlooking the ocean. The "beach" is a short drive away. they really did this cottage right. there is a very large tv in the main room and another in the bed room. Excellent cable and wifi. Unfortunately the kids bedroom is connected to main bedroom and although you can close the door, the kids must come through your bedroom to get out of their room. Yes the cottage is tiny, but boy is it clean. The owners put nice touches all around. 3 cottages share this area with a security fence all around. Full (tiny) kitchen, 1 (tine) full bath, and one (medium) main room. one fault, our bed is to soft and lumpy.

“Great house by the beach”

My family and I had a great time staying at this house. The property was surrounded by a fence and I felt safe to let my young kids explore the garden by themselves. It had easy access to the beach and walking distance to local coffee shops and restaurants. It was the height of summer but every room had a working ceiling fan so it kept us cool. My unit came with a garage parking space which is handy as beach parking is hard to find. I would like to mention that the San Diego airport is not too far away from this house so you'll hear planes overhead from time to time. You really don't notice it during the day but at night if you're a sensitive sleeper you might want to bring earplugs. I think there's an ordinance so the plane noises stop at around 11pm or so.

“Nice Ocean Beach Location”

We stayed at the Ocean Beach Tropics for a family vacation. We were able to comfortably fit 3 generations and our family dogs. It could seem small from the outside, but inside felt pretty roomy. The main area layout allowed for multipurpose use. The sleeping options (during our stay) were versatile with 2 pullout couches, single bed with single trundle bed and queen bed. The bed comfort was just ok. For a family trip it worked. Amenities included large fridge, oven/stove, dishwasher, small appliances, TV, DVD player, washer/dryer and community gas grills. We had excellent food on the grill and I'm told we need to get that same grill for home! We were also happy for the little supplies around the house that we didn't think of in our packing. Saved us many trips to the store. Wifi was great for our tech heavy family. The TV channels included a few sports channels which kept our sports fans content for the big games

The vacation rental located was nice. Ocean Beach is a very pet friendly place. You have your own access to the beach down the block. A local Breakfast/lunch/smoothies place right next door. We seemed to end up there at least once a day during out stay. There basic coffee was a favorite of mine. There is also a gas station/convenience store across the street. I really enjoyed the family that runs (owns?) the convenience store. We bought basics and odds/ends throughout our stay. They even had a few fresh foods that helped complete a few meals. Another plus for being in a heavily populated area such as San Diego is the delivery options available. We liked grubhub.com. The pier and downtown was within walking distance for our family (with a stroller) but was also easy to just drive to. Having a parking space was a nice option during busy times.
