These guys are amazing! We booked the tour about two weeks out from our vacation to San Diego, not sure what to expect. My boyfriend and I booked for a Wednesday afternoon and we were the only ones on the tour -- private tour? Yes, please! Our driver was FANTASTIC. Super knowledgeable, funny, interesting, polite. He offered to take our pictures at every brewery, he knew tons about the city, fun places to go out and eat, he even warned us about places not to eat. After driving us around to our three destinations, he offered to drop us off where ever we wanted to have dinner and gave us some great recommendations. This tour is well worth the money. Highly recommended!

I took the Sunday public tour. Although my wife and I were the only tour goers, they took us anyway. Dyson the tour guide, was smart and very beer knowledge. We went to Stone, San Marcos Brew Pub and Lost Abbey. All locations were great with plenty of samples and accessibility to the brewery. The included lunch was good. Would do it again.

Loved this tour. It was a hoot; one of the highlights of our recent trip to S.D. Did the day time trip w/pick-up/drop-off at Old Town transit center, a short walk from where we were staying. 3 Brewery stops; Mission, Pizza Port and Ballast Point. Our guide Rob was pleasant, patient, and knowledgeable. Tried great beers at all 3 locations. Had a large, tasty slice and salad at Pizza Port in O.B. for lunch. We had plenty of beer and would not have wanted to drive after it was over. Matter-of-fact; about all we could muster upon our return to the Hotel, was a nap. A must try for beer lovers!

For $85 PP I think that tour was too expensive for what you got.
We did the Friday evening tour because we wanted to go to Stone Brewery. We got picked up at 6pm, went to Ballast point for a tour of the brewery and tried some beers. we had to serve ourselves at the bar, and wait in line to get served by the bartender.
after 1 hour, we were whisked away to San Marcos Brewery. We sat at a table while our guide went to the bar. we all wondered why he didnt join us, u know, to educate us on the beers? well the waitress served us our pre-selected dinner options which were good and brought about 5 sample bteers throughout the meal. it felt quite rushed, only 1 hour to eat dinner and sample beers. then we were off to Stone, but by now it was dark...For those of you that havent been to Stone I recommend googling images the place is amazing and certainly best to be seen in the day time.
we got to stone, bought some stuff from the giftshop, then went to the garden area for some sample beers. this place was amazing, there were fires, and lights and frogs chirping (do frogs chirp? lol) it was like a large beautiful camping experience! but too bad we couldnt see it in the light. it was nice our guide joined us and explained the beers to us, he is very knowledgable and had some good stories. but we only stayed one hour... i think it would have been better to go to stone 1st so we can enjoy the grounds in the daylight. i do understand the time limits set but would have liked to not felt so rushed.
i've done a brew tour in portland and it was $45 PP and we went to 6 breweries and got quite drunk. for this tour at $85 i didnt get drunk.
its a good experience but i would go in a day tour. we were gone from 6-11 but spent a lot of the time driving.

Brewery Tours of San Diego is a great organization. The staff were easy to work with while making arrangements and very helpful. Our guide, Rob, was knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to help us out. The prices are also very fair.
