“Good Chinese and Attentive Service”
Reviewed 26 May 2013

Stopped in to the City Wok last night after golf for a Chinese blow out dinner. Nice trendy Chinese restaurant concept and very efficient. We ordered Soups, H&S, Won Ton, and Corn & Egg all good. Rolled into apps with the Lettuce wraps (very good), Potstickers, and Dumplings all good. Entrees were City Wok chicken, Kung Pao chicken, Broccoli in O sauce, chicken lo mein, all were very good. Only dish I did not care for was the Shrimp in Lob sauce but all else good. Had plenty of left overs and our server packaged them up with a smile. I would defiantly eat there again.

“Best Chinese in San Diego!”
Reviewed 11 April 2013

We hunted around for a Chinese restaurant and found City Wok. We were pleasantly surprised. It was great food. We should have shared entrees as they were huge! We took back over half our food to the hotel. Highly recommend.

“Great Casual Restaurant”
Reviewed 23 January 2013

I have eaten her many times and have never been disappointed. The food is freshly prepared to order and is always delicious. Sauces are expertly applied to each dish and not like some places where the sauces almost taste the same for each dish.
Lunch menu is very reasonable as you get choice of soup or chicken salad with a delicious ginger dressing , almost a meal in itself , egg roll and entree at a very reasonable price.$6-9, depending on meat or shrimp choices.Service is friendly and fast.
What it lacks in decor it surely make up in food quality and service.

“This time for Carryout.”
Reviewed 31 October 2012

Called ahead as I left work, everything waiting when I arrived. Got something different that I hadn't seen on the menu previously - Candied Walnut Shrimp. Excellent, as was the Spicy Singapore Rice Noodles. Was back again, and will be back soon. 'Nuff said.

“Not your run of the mil Chinese food.”
Reviewed 31 October 2012

We lost several great Chinese diners in San Diego with the weak economy they closed up and moved out. We got lucky when we found Sonnie's City Wok! I was surprized when the wait person was so professional she very willing to describe their menu Tang described the food and spice choices. We were hooked; we started eating there twice a week and never get bored with the selections! They have a nice wine selection and will modify the dish if you have fish allergies.
This is great place to eat for either casual or if you want a better meal. The food has no MSG. Their hot and sour is the best in San Diego! You can watch your food being made in the huge woks!
