“Location, Location...The only place to stay in the Gaslamp...”

Stayed at this property the beginning of July for three nights. Over the years we have stayed at several Gaslamp hotels (US Grant,Hard Rock,Marriott Marquis, etc..)and this Hilton is definitely the best. The location is superb, the Gaslamp District is right at your front door. The room on the 12th floor was very nicely decorated, the in room coffee was very good and from "The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf". Had Breakfast in the Hotel dining room every morning and could not have been more pleased with the food quality and service. There are many fine restaurants in the area.Flemings is just across the street. Used Tripadvisor to find most of the other restaurants we dined at and had a great Mexican dinner at "La Puerta" several blocks from the hotel. There is also a very nice Starbucks up the street. The Hotel is spotless and the service was definitely Five Star....Would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend to others in the area. Thank you Hilton Gaslamp staff for a job well done....

Stayed here on business last week and was surprised at a nice, comfortable hotel in a great location. $41 for parking is ridiculous however. There are several public lots close by that are $1/ hr with $15 daily limit. Other than being raped for valet parking at the hotel, it's a good place.

Stayed for 4 days at the Hilton and had a great time. Breakfast buffet was really good but pricey. Parking is expensive ($40) so we used the parking garage ($15) 2 blocks away. Lots of great restaurants and bars within walking distance

This hotel is top notch! I attended a conference in town. The location is absolutely perfect. I was within walking distance of shops, restaurants, area attractions, bars and the metro. The staff was friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. My luggage was delayed and the front desk gave me some discount coupons towards the purchase of new clothes and a $20 credit to use at their restaurant. My corner room overlooked the metro but I hardly ever heard it at night. Next time I go to San Diego, I will be staying here!

The 2nd time i have stYed at the Hilton Gas Lamp while attending a major conference in the San Diego Convention Center. The proximity is better than any other hotel with a cross walk directly in front of the hotel making transit times anout 3-5 minutes depending on the cross walk cycle times
Booked a penthouse suite to host private meetings outside the hustle of the convention center. The suite was quiet and comfortable with separate bedroom but no separate entrance. Still the suite accomodates 8 comfortably and the hotel furnished extra stacking chairs. Catering was efficient thoughtypical pricey for a business class accomodation. Staff were super courteous, efficient and helped with every small detail to insure productive setting for business discussions.

The small size of the hotel itself meant efficient transit time impossible in rhe larger nearby hotels. Small pool and fitness room for relaxinging..but if your on vacation with family, then you probably should stay at the Hard Rock next door with a huge party scene, or the more family friendly Marriott with massive tropical pool resort feel.

For serious business in the convention center this is the best place in the Gas Lamp Quarter

Room Tip: Avoid lower floors facing the train tracks. There are 2 evening freight trains and the guarded cross...

This hotel is in a geat location. Very close to Gas Lamp restaraunt and bars and the the Harbor as well. Extremely close to PetCo Stadium as well. Just note that this hotel is a PET friendly hotel so if you have any pets they are welcomed here but if you have any animal allergies you may want to ask if they have rooms were pets have never stayed in. Still a great location.

This was our first time visiting this location & I was a bit surprised by the $41.00 overnight parking charge for guests but the property looked beautiful. We had a choice of either a "view" (which was of the convention center) or a "quiet room" where you wouldn't hear the trains going by. We chose the view & the train noise wasn't even an issue. Our room was clean, tastefully decorated & was a decent size for a family of 3. The bed was comfortable & had enough down pillows for all of us. Unfortunately, our shower had a slow running drain so you're standing in water, yuck. The flushing toilet was so loud my 6 year old would cover his ears, & the air conditioner cycling off & on was quite loud as well. Ambient noise was just a little louder than I prefer. Overall, this is a great hotel in a great location & I'd stay here again...I'm sure the slow shower drain was an aberration.
