Hilton Gaslamp Quarter is located within walking distance of Petco Park in San Diego. It is across the street from their convention center. The personnel there were friendly, although I cannot say much for the restaurant and nothing for the maintenance done in front of the elevators on a Monday morn. The rooms were clean and comfortable; the maid service superb. The parking fee is $41 a day. However, with a little planning you can park your car elsewhere and wheel over to the HGLQ.

Room Tip: Park the car elsewhere. That is what the Net is for.

This hotel is located in the Gaslamp Quarter. We arrived at night and did not know it was just valet parking. It was dark and we drove around looking for a parking garage. We did not readily see the tiny valet area. It just did not dawn on us that there would not be regular garage parking. At any rate, our room was standard with a view of a roof out our window and even though I was a silver member of Hilton, there were no extras or any recognition. I just got done having total hip surgery and was walking with a cane still and we were given a room very far from the elevator. Our evening was one of fatigue having driven in from Sedona and fortunately it was quiet but, the next night was something totally different. People were yelling and screaming up and down the hallways at night. We had to call the front desk to complain about how loud they were. The hotel did send someone up to investigate and ask them to settle down. They left about 11PM to go out and returned obviously drunk at 2:10AM. We had breakfast in the restaurant and sat out by the pool. One very positive is the Artesia Spa and Salon which is on site and readily available to the hotel guests. I did have an express massage by Anika and manicure and hair cut/style by Catalina and they were both wonderful. The restaurant was fine for breakfast but a little pricey.

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to post a review of the hotel. We appreciate this feedback as it allows us to improve our services as we share all reviews with our staff. Due to our dynamic location in the Gaslamp district and downtown area parking is very limited.
Our parking costs include the Valet service, as well as unlimited 'In and Out' meaning you can take your car whenever you want without additional fees. Your car will always remain secure and accessible in our covered parking.
Thank you again for your feedback and we look forward to future opportunities to serve you to your complete satisfaction.

Great value and location. Steps away from The Gaslamp District and San Diego Padres stadium. This hotel is very nice. Very clean and the staff are awesome. Join Hilton rewards and get upgraded. I think the Hilton brand is one of the best.

Good room and excellent service. Was happy to have a sofa bed accessible in a king room. My 4 year old loved it. The staff service was excellent. Everyone was fast and professional. Would definitely stay again.

Location was great! Could walk to many things! Concierge, Mike Denton, was very helpful arranging our transportation for day trips! Accommodations were fine and maids friendly and attentive. However, the restaurant and hotel bar area need some better management because it is poorly run. Consistency on buffet in mornings was very poor. Sometimes you would get a waiter/waitress or not! On buffet you were allowed to order eggs anyway you would prefer from them. Basically if they felt like waiting on you. Very poor service. Personnel seemed to disappear. Stay at hotel for location and get on high level floor because of noise from restaurants/clubs/train from gaslamp area. Just don't use restaurant/bar. Not recommended.

Room Tip: Not loud from guests just loud from area if on lower floor. High floor a must for this hotel. We wer...

Staying at the Hilton Gaslamp was a great move for a convention goer. It is a brief walk out the back door of the hotel to the convention center (less than 2 minutes) and it is nicely positioned off the main strip (5th Avenue). Stay on the far side of the hotel, away from the train tracks, especially if you don't want to be awaken at 6 am by the rumblings of the commuter trains.

Room Tip: Stay on the side away from the train tracks.

Everything about this hotel rocks. Although it is right in the middle of Gaslamp, it's very quiet. Yes, the parking charge is ludicrous, but it's downtown San Diego; parking is non-existant.

It's within walking distance of bars, restaurants and Petco Park.

We went on a weekend when my Dodgers were in town and it was awesome. We were able to go out and party and have fun, and not have to worry about driving anywhere.
