Having stayed at the Omni in San Francisco, Iwas able to book the San Diego Omni with confidence. Loved the location in the Gaslamp quarter, right next to Petco Park. The staff were all incredibly accommodating and helpful; it seemed that nothing was too much trouble.
Our room was spacious and very comfortable, with a small balcony overlooking the conference centre. The bathroom was lovely with piles of fluffy towels and a selection of quality toiletries. The bath was big enough for my 6 foot 4 husband to enjoy a relaxing soak. I was concerned when I noticed the ear plugs in the drawer as the room overlooked the trolley stop. Sure enough, there was some noise from the crossing, although it didn’t seem to either continue late into the night or start very early in the morning. Thus, neither of us were disturbed by this.
It is well worth joining their loyalty program as this provides free wifi, a morning beverage of choice and turn down service. The pool area looked great although we didn’t have time to actually use it. Valet parking is very expensive ($38 a day) although there is public parking literally across the road for $15 a day, although this, unlike parking at the Omni, does not provide in/out privileges.
I thought the Omni was excellent value and I would highly recommend it to visitors to San Diego.
