Excellent stay with an unbeatable location. It is located centrally to many of San Diego's attractions. Rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. The hotel is connected to Petco where the Padres play so it is a great choice if you are attending a game. It is also right across from the entrance to the Gaslamp quarter.

I stayed at the Omni for a week on business. I was very impressed. My room was lovely with lots of natural light but heavy drapes to keep it out when I needed to sleep. The room was spotless and well soundproofed. I ate breakfast at the hotel most mornings. There was a good selection and the food was excellent. The location is great in the Gaslamp District which is buzzing with bars and restaurants. The hotel is also very close to the Marina, the Conference Centre and the rail system.

Excellent location right near the Gaslamp Quarter, the Convention Center, and the waterfront parks. Friendly staff. Large room and comfortable beds. It could be noisy if there is a big baseball game in the statium which is right next to the hotel.

The hotel is top notch, the staff is wonderful and the location is prime. The in house restaurant is great. Easily within walking distance of restaurants, entertainment/nightlife. Being able to go to a Padres game and having an exclusive entrance from the hotel was an added bonus. The staff especially make it a great place to stay.

I was booked at the Omni for a recent business trip to San Diego. I'd heard great things about the properties, and given that I really only travel for business once or twice a year, was really excited to stay at a highly-ranked hotel.

First, let me say: The staff are wonderful. Everyone I encountered is a top-notch pro. The rooms are lovely, comfortable, and the bathrooms are good-sized with a really nice set-up of built-in cabinets for storing personal items. Even the bathrobes are lovely.

But this property location is a real challenge. It backs up against PetCo park and faces out over the Gaslamp trolley stop and a major freight train line. Further, there is a plaza that acts as the entrance to the Gaslamp quarter, which is bounded by two bars and the Hard Rock Cafe/Hotel. The bottom line is: Noise. Unbelievable noise. The freight train runs twice a day (around 8PM and 2:30AM) and the trolley runs from about 6AM until midnight or so. My work colleagues were in higher-floor rooms, but they both experienced similar noise, and to boot, had to deal with the noise from a Padres' game one night.

I genuinely wanted to love this hotel, and I almost feel badly for the staff about the location. Maybe it's just me, but the noise…just never experienced anything like it. Maybe the higher floors, on a non-Padres night, are better. (Convenience-wise, it's super….close to the convention center and Gaslamp, so there's that.)

Room Tip: Avoid the lower-floor, front-facing rooms, and definitely check the Padres' schedule when bookin...

We had a wonderful experience at the Omni San Diego for work travel and family vacation. The room, accommodations, and hotel location were all great. The hotel provided a kids' backpack with activities that our son loved and was perfect for bringing to restaurants. the staff was very welcoming and friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a great experience.

Staff was accomodating, valet men were awesome! The rooms were clean and neat. We enjoyed the complimentary beverage every morning. The pool was crisp and clear. We also had massages which were delightful.
