This was a lovely hotel. Beautiful on the inside, beautiful on the outside, lovely rooms, great views, just the staff is a bit snobby. The Valet is also a lot of money, so if you can find a way to make it convenient for you to park in the garage across the street for 15.00 I would recommend that. Its the same one they use after all.

Normally I go into detail about the room and facility (see my other review of Omni San Diego from last year), but this time I want to emphasize the excellence in service.

Once again, to my delight, all of my requests were met prior to arrival: refrigerator, crib, high floor, quiet room. However there was one issue with our suite. Although it is a non-smoking hotel, the room smelled of smoke the moment we arrived. Normally this would not bother me but with our toddler with us, we didn't want our toddler to be exposed to secondhand smoke. The Bellman also graciously acknowledged that he smelt smoke and immediately called the front desk to see if there were any available suites to move to, but it was Fourth of July and there were no available suites. Thinking that it was just the previous guest who smoked, The Bellman offered to have house cleaning treat the room for the smell. I requested not to do that for fear of allergies to the spray (see my Hotel Indigo Del Mar Review).

We kind of got used to the smell overnight but the following day, the smoke had gotten worse and after further inspection of air flow I concluded that the guest in the adjoining room was smoking and the air was flowing from their room into ours through the opening under the adjoining door. At that point I went to the front desk and explained that I wanted to protect my son from the smoke and asked to move rooms. The front desk person was understanding and apologetic that the suites that were the same type as ours were fully booked that night, but she offered me other different and helpful solutions.
The end result was that they did move us the following day because multiple guests had checked out.

Having to move in general is a hassle and when traveling moving rooms was no different with having to pack up our belongings again and being displaced from our original room for the day. But the Omni staff helped make the transition smoother. The front desk was gracious in updating me with the readiness of the room and the Bellman transferred our bags and ensured that the refrigerator and crib were brought over, too.

Another example of good customer service was that upon checkout, despite it being busy, the Bellman took the time to get us ice for our toddler's milk cooler while our hands were full with our toddler.

All in all, this trip had its bumps but the Omni San Diego staff made the stay enjoyable and pleasant. Thanks to Chip, Nieves (sorry if I misspelled or mispronounced your name), Samantha, Sean, Joe, Jesse(?), Kimi, room service, McCormick & Schmick, house cleaning, valet and the rest of the Omni San Diego Staff. We definitely recommend the hotel and we look forward to our next stay there!

This is a great hotel located close to all the landmarks. If you are a baseball fan, this is the best place to stay. We got a room that look right into Petco field. We were lucky that Padres were playing when we were in our room and my son had a blast watching the game from the comfort of his room. The rooms are beautifully furnished. The room service was great. We found the staff in the lobby a bit wanting. One of the staff was standing next to an empty pitcher of water and although a few people tried to use the pitcher he didn't lift a finger to remedy the problem. One other minor complain is that if you have a room like ours that look into the stadium, there tends to be a group of other guests standing outside your door looking out the hall window. This can be a bit annoying. All in all, Omni San Diego is a great hotel and we will return whenever we are in SD.

We love the Omni San Diego. Love to go across the bridge to the baseball stadium and love the view into the city and over the harbor. Close to Coronado bridge and several great restaraunts within walking distance. Always try to stay here when we are in town.

Great hotel. High quality service. Properly priced. Awesome location. Right at the beginning of the Gas Lamp district and directly across from the baseball stadium. In fact. there is a bridge that connects the stadium with the hotel for the exclusive use of hotel guests. Totally a great place to stay in San Diego!

Room Tip: All rooms are good no matter where you are. Views of the city, pool and bay are very nice.

This was a great location. We were able to travel to sea world, legoland, San Diego zoo, balboa park and coronado easily. I expected more from this 4 star hotel. The beds were not comfortable. We had two doubles both were aweful. I expected that such a hotel would only offer two queen beds instead of doubles? It also seemed customer service came with a price if you need anything it costs extra money.
