“Great Choice For Restaurant Week”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

We made D Bar our choice for Restaurant Week and were not disappointed. With the prix fixe menus and multiple courses of Restaurant Week we are accustomed to small portions but that was not the case here, the servings were huge. And size did not diminish quality at all, everything we tried was great. The two favorites of our group were the fried brussel sprouts and the churros. Despite being fried they were not heavy or greasy in the least and the taste was outstanding. These aren't your typical churros, so light that you could eat a ton and not feel like you had a brick in your stomach. We enjoyed our dinner here and will plan to return in the future.

“Deliciousness, service great, a little pricey”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2014 via mobile

We celebrated my friend's birthday here - they were awesome! They brought her her dessert and a lit candle and gave her a birthday card signed by the entire staff.

Nice casual & classy place to hang out - a modern feel with the decor. It's well-lit, but not too bright. Quiet enough to hear your date & see her/him!

I had the blackened salmon salad with steamed bok choy; a friend said her Kobe beef sliders were good. Everyone loved their food. The chef accommodated my other friend's request for the risotto as a side dish.

They are known for their desserts, but their food is a nice complement to the company I had. Their chocolate layer cake was not too sweet or rich--just right.

“Great food and Service”

Food of high quality, cool place and nice staff. We had the French fries with cheese bacon and aioli I think, the brussel sprouts and kobe sliders and much more, everything very tasteful and well served.

“Slow service & food was mediocre ”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2014 via mobile

My advice to management is HIRE more servers. The service was so slow... Customers should not be looking out to get servers attention. Cocktails were great so kudos to bartender. We had to send the Brussels sprouts back because they were raw. My pork tenderloin lacked flavor and the apple salad dressing ruined the entree with a bitter taste. For the $$ I expected better service and delicious food. Maybe the HH is worth it but I would not spend this kind of $$ for this repeat experience. Too much outstanding competition in Hillcrest to waste you're time here.

“Great venue, great food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2014

Obviously, our wait staff had been hipped to the fact that we were the birthday girls, because they called us by name all night. Service = great, drinks = great, food = extraordinary. Such an eclectic assortment of dishes you can hardly decide on a meal, or if you should just skip straight to the desserts! Make sure everyone orders something different because you will want to taste everything! I highly recommend the shrimp and grits, delicious. Fun atmosphere, very vibrant. Definitely worth a return trip.
