“Great Affordable Italian Food”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

This is the perfect place for a date, for dining out with friends, or a quick meal before a show. The service is polite and not intrusive and the food is usually very good. Happened on the $25 Tuesday night bargain for starter, pasta main and dessert. Arugula salad with yellow beets and a light dressing...saffron seafood linguini and then a chocolate cake to finish. The pasta had scallops, shrimp and soft shell crab, and while it was a little heavy for me with the creamy saffron sauce, it was still quite delightful. i tried my friend's filet mignon and it, too was well done. Thankfully I had some of his spinach to offset my calorie inducing meal! Their prices are mid range even for the non special price. Worth the effort (and the calories)

“Favorite Italian Restaurant”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

We often eat here before going to a concert or play downtown. The restaurant is attractive, with a great (heated) outdoor patio and we love the food, particularly as gluten free pasta is on the menu and there are many dishes that are also gluten free. Happy Hour is a bargain, with many wines by the glass at extremely reasonable prices. The staff are knowledgeable and always very pleasant.

“Excellent Happy Hour”
Reviewed 27 May 2013

Amazing food, smaller (normal size) portions, gourmet taste. Try the Bolognese! Charles is the best bartender! He really makes you feel special. He will make you feel like your the only people in the place. He has excellent recommendations. We have frequented this place on many occasions..Birthdays, wedding anniversaries, and every time (whether we spend $50 or $150) we are treated like honored guests. Family and gay friendly.

“Ok, but not as good as when in the old house”
Reviewed 8 May 2013

Have eaten with them several times through the years, and the food in the old house was better, more "rich home cooking" so to speak. The new location (for us) restaurant is more up scale, and the food seems just a little skimpy, more designer and expensive, and just not as full and rich. The Puttanesca sauce I originally had a few years ago was just beautiful, thick, dark red with lots of rich olive oil, and well simmered to a great sauce. Italian ambrosia, like we sometimes found in Italy/Sicily. This time it was nothing like that at all. Very light and thin. The great veal Marsala dish with a very tasty sauce my wife had at that time didn't appear to be on the menu this time. Our friends were not overjoyed with their selections either. I guess this happens when a restaurant goes more upscale from their roots.

Although they gave us a good deal on a wine, I recommend trying to find another restaurant.
