Having stayed at numerous Hampton Inns I was a bit disappointed with this one. As in most if not all hotels in the San Diego area there was a parking fee. Although lower ($14) than many of the other hotels, the spaces were small for any vehicle other than a compact or subcompact.
We stayed for four nights and found the hotel to be filled with a variety of different groups during our stay. The carpeting in the hallways appeared to be new but were always in need of vacuuming. The breakfast area was always well stocked and for the most part the staff kept it clean although it was usually very crowded.
My three star rating is due the noise level that kept us awake one night past 3:00 am when I finally I called the desk to complain. I was given a sincere apology by the clerk and we assumed the noise would stop but apparently they took no action because the noise continued. Finally at 3:30 am my husband pounded on the wall and only then did the noise stop.
Our towels and bath mat were not replenished when housekeeping removed them. Also, the refrigerator in the room did not keep food cold and there were no controls to adjust the temperature.More
