Review of Petco Park

Petco Park
Ranked #13 of 461 things to do in San Diego
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 23 July 2012

Petcopark is the best baseball stadium I have ever been to and can’t wait to go again. The seas we got along side the 3rd baseline was the bomb. The food was great and they had hotdogs wrapped in bacon in a bun served with onions and ketchup. But the best part about the park was that a lot of foul balls were hit and I was very close to one. Definletly family friendly and worth visiting if you haven’t gone. Is the best ball park I have ever been to

Very friendly there as was everywhere in San Diego! Even though we were rooting against the Padres!

Go a few hours early and park across the street for easy ballpark access. Eat at any of the good dining establishments around the park or get some good food at the park. The peanuts and ball park are great.

The design of the park is great - there may not be a bad seat in the entire stadium. The food looked and smelled incredibly tempting. Conveniently located in downtown San Diego. Tickets were very affordable. A fun experience!

We heard the tour was worth doing and it certainly was. It is 90 min of behind-the-scenes fun. You go to areas the fans don't get to see. There was a game that evening so we couldn't tour the locker rooms (something to keep in mind). Our guide, Patty, was very knowledgeable and knew so many stats. Going out onto the field and dugout area was a kick. A couple of the team players were out on the field with their kids for a photo shoot. The pitchers were warming up in the practice area with a couple of young boys. The stadium is nicely situated in town with easy access by foot or however you wish to get there. We weren't planning to attend a game but found out from our guide Patty that for $5 you could sit on the grass in the Park in the Park and still have access to most of the ballpark for food, restrooms, etc. Since our rented condo was only a couple of blocks away, we went back to view the fireworks - Summer Blast - and it was HUGE. It made up for the 4th of July fireworks debacle.
