“Family friendly baseball park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

I went to the 5/4 Sunday afternoon Padres game with my family; our Upper Infield Reserved seats on the 3rd base side in section 310, Row 10, were in the shade by the 3rd inning, most welcome on a warm sunny day. The price of the tickets was also reduced almost 50% because we had 3 Little Leaguers in our party!
For families with very young children, the Park at the Park section outside the seated area, with big screen for game viewing, and grassy hill area for blankets and room for little ones to roam around, is another option.
It is a beautiful baseball park!

“Best ballpark”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

As a veteran of Ebbets Field, the Polo Grounds, and the old and new Yankee Stadiums, plus other ballparks around the country, Petco is the best.

It is well run, clean and orderly and there is no bad seat in the house.

The location is walking distance from the Gas Lamp district and provides for a great experience.

The food is good, San Diego craft beer is excellent ( a bit pricey at $11 per glass).

“Great Ballpark and Sightlines”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 May 2014

Wonderful ballpark. First time in this venue and I heard they just upgraded their concessions with local food restaurants. I had a BBQ Sandwich with all the sides. $21 for food and drink which is ballpark prices.

The seats are great and the staff at the ballpark are extremely helpful. If you are a baseball fan, this is a must see ballpark.

“Petco Park Game”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 May 2014 via mobile

Never been to Petco, but have been too about a dozen of MLB ballparks.

Has bleacher seats. Well, not your traditional bleacher seat setup, and I think I liked it better! The seats were wider, it was a less crowded game (although not sure if many are sold out), and the weather was standard SD weather - perfect.

Food prices were the standard high, same with beers, but lines were short and the servers went quick!

Bleachers may be a good idea for a family with small kids since the bottom say 30 by 30 feet is all sand.

Only issue was I was "coaxed" into buying beer tickets for 5 bucks that did nothing. It was simply as if I paid in advance for a discount as if I'd forget I already paid for half!

Fun experience.

“Nice enough”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2014

Having recently visited parks in San Francisco, Seattle, and elsewhere, my standards for an urban park may have been set too high. Petco was cool in some ways, but the views seemed to me the wrong way around - hopefully they have plans for the area the park faces. There were also some cool areas in the park for local beers, etc, but they were FAR from the central seating areas. All great views of the action, though, and the combination of warehouse/new construction in the appearance of the park has some charm. I hope that in a few years changes outside the park will improve the overall experience.
