“A hidden treasure and San Diego's best kept secret.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 September 2013

Albies Beef Inn is the place for a consistently great meal and drinks. A great local bar which includes a piano player/singer. Other guesst will grab the mike and sing their hearts out. It is a fun place to eat and listen to music. Easy access with pleanty of parking and hotels close by. The wait staff and bartenders are exceptional. The waitress named Mary is a standout and excellent with customers. We love this place.

“It's Hip to be Square”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2013

Everything about this place is old school, from the bar first mentality to the dark interior to the leather booths, etc. but the food is good, including the dark bread, the giant carrot, and the Steak Diane. Service was a little slow, but overall it was a good experience.

“Atmosphere at it's best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2013

Sometimes it all comes together when you come to a restaurant. The place has a vibe...a good feeling. Hard to put words on it but you just now that this will be a nice dinner.
This place has all of the above and with a friendly staff that clearly loves working there this is a GREAT place. We had dinner twice in one week and we where leaving not only with our stomachs full but with a good feeling in mind and soul.
its next to all motels and dosen't look much from the outside but don't be scared of that. Easy to find parking just outside. 15 minuets from downtown and worth every second of that drive

“An experience not to be missed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2013

It's a few years since we went to Albie's but it seems by the reviews that it hasn't changed - good job too!
The reviews give a good feel for what you can expect at Albie's - sooooooooo friendly. The comments about the big piano is interesting - you may well find there are some stars of yesteryear enjoying themselves here on a Wednesday evening. We did and were made very very welcome and we had the most enjoyable evening at the invitation of Charles the vetinarian and his show biz friends.
This is a MUST DO if you are ever in the area.
You will not regret it. It's an experience to savour

“Best kept secret in San Diego”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2013

Located in the center of Hotel Circle is Albies Beef Inn is located adjoining the Travelodge Hotel. We have been going there for over25 years. The Chef selects his beef and vegetables everyday to assure the finest in quality. The atmosphere is both cozy and elegant. The bar is well stocked, and the bartenders are friendly and pour a good drink.Their menu is varied to suit every pallet, The leather covered padded booths are comfortable and intimate. Following a chilled salad on a chilled silver platter served with dressings prepared in house and both white served with mushroom gravy, a double baked potato and candied carrot-divine.Never have I ever been unhappy with the food, service or employees. When company comes to town or if someone asks where to go for a great and reasonable meal we always recommend Albies. Once you try it you will never forget it.
