“Art Deco at its finest”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2012

The interior of the building is an amazing timepiece of the 1920's grand theatre showplaces. Take time to look around the upper walls and ceiling when you're inside.

“historical, charming, uncomfortable tiny seats”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2012

Went here for a musical, for the first time, about a year ago.Lovely atmosphere and acoustics but the seats were so tiny and uncomfortably hard, built for another era.

“Historic location... with historic seats”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2012

I too visited this theatre to see Jason Mraz & Toca in November 2011. The theatre itself is now a 100 years old, and a National Historic Site. The architecture definitely features details of an era passed, inside and out. It looked like they were doing some renovation, but the lobby was not hampered due to these fixer uppers.

The acoustics are awesome, but I was up in the mezzanine where the seats are tiny by today's standards. I am not a tall person - 5'3" on a good day - and my knees hit the wall (we were in the first row). I felt sorry for the taller people around me who looked like they might need the jaws of life to get out of their seats. Keep in mind, like any historic location, the seats are not going to be comparable to a recently constructed movie theater.

I really don't know where the parking is *supposed* to be for this venue, but we parked at the neighboring NBC Studio building parking lot. It is also located near the Horton Plaza shopping center, where we grabbed some quick & cheap grub before the show. There is also a sushi restaurant next door, and a quiznos and a couple of other resturants around the corner from the main entrance.

Loved the cozy confines of this theatre--saw Jason Mraz and Toca Rivera. AWESOME acoustics and setting.
