“Amazing Property”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grand del Mar. Highlights include the gorgeous bathroom, the stunning view, the very comfortable beds and the chocolates offered at turn down service. The entire property, both indoors and out, is beautifully designed and immaculately kept. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer in order to partake of the resort's many offered activities.

For the past three unbelievable nights my son and I again were transported to the 350 million dollar villa in "Tuscany" called The Grand Del Mar where all our five senses were in for a real treat. We especially enjoyed our time at the spa/adult pool where we found serenity. The afternoon breeze often delivered the scent of jasmine flowers ; the under water music in the pool dissipated all tension and stress; the gorgeous and magnificent grounds are a smorgasbord for our eyes; the taste of casual to fine dining always satisfied our appetites; and the over 30 types of marble and wood at this exceptional resort are a delight to any touch!

This is our fifth visit to The Grand Del Mar and each time we return "home", staff never seem to forget our names or our familiar faces. They always manage to make us feel so special and valued at The Grand Del Mar.

The resort grounds and rooms are immaculately spic and span; there isn't any wear and tear to be seen anywhere. Everything at the resort exudes opulence and extravagance. Each time we come to San Diego is to come "home to our family" at the Grand Del Mar.

A big thank you to all the staff at The Grand Del Mar for elevating this magnificent property to be the Best of the Best!

We will see you again in August! A big thank you once again for helping us experience Xanadu right here in San Diego's own "Tuscany!"

Room Tip: All rooms are fantastic. There isn't one bad room anywhere on the property.

My wife and I only stayed for two nights but I wish it could have been longer. The property is beautiful. Our favorite part was the chocolate covered Oreos they left on our pillows. The service at the hotel was really good. The staff seemed very well trained. There was a wedding while we were there and I couldn't think of a prettier spot for a wedding. We spent the day in San Diego and it was nice to come back to the quiet resort. I would highly recommend this resort.

It is actually a resort - beautiful setting in an upscale residential area within easy reach of everything San Diego does offer. The Grand Del Mar is a truly Grand Hotel in the European tradition, elegant but not formal, surrounding by a rolling hillside and a beautiful golf course, we did not have the time to experience. Outstanding and personal service, several restaurants including a Michelin 2 star rated dining venue, a separate pool for adults only and a welcoming environment for a small business meeting. Loved the nice sized room with all the amenities and views of the landscape surrounding the hotel.

Room Tip: The hotel offers a 2 hour morning hike with a great naturalist/guide - not to be missed.

Our 4th stay at GDM. Property is beautiful and pristine. Two excellent restaurants with knowledgeable and highly professional sommeliers and waitstaff. Entire hotel staff is unfailingly courteous, pleasant, willing to take responsibility and proud of the facility. Excellent spa facilities and programs. Terrific tennis pro. We have traveled extensively and have never received better service - 4 times without ever missing a beat! The Grand DelMar is simply the best place in which we have ever stayed.

We stayed here for 3 nights in early June on a trip to the West Coast (San Diego and San Francisco.) The resort is absolutely magnificent. We were upgraded to a beautiful room with a balcony and a bathroom as large as many hotel rooms. We ate dinner in one of the restaurants one evening and had breakfast also. Both meals were terrific. My only regret was that I didn't bring my golf clubs. Next time I will.

Room Tip: We had the Veranda King Room. Loved it

Best value in the area. The money is worth the service. This was by far the best resort we have ever stayed at. We have stayed at the Greenbrier, the Homestead, 2 different Loews resorts, Disney resorts. I cannot even begin to explain the differences. It was all of the subtle things the staff did. Anything I said was "perfect", staff stopped to let you walk by and asked how you were. Housekeeping arranged our kids' stuffed animals on the bed. Turn down would leave extra treats and rose petals at night. Everyone wished me a Happy Father's Day. The dining experience at Addison was the best I have ever had. We stayed 4 nights here and 3 at Loews in Coronado. We regret we did not stay all 7. The Grand Del Mar is the reason we will be taking another trip to San Diego. We will spend the whole week there the next time.

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony you can sleep with the doors opoen
