The building and location are great and we loved the view and the proximity to the beach. Unfortunately, this condo, #604, was not clean. We arrived and soon realized that the microwave was not clean, the counter was not clean and our sheets were dirty. So gross. The owners had the maid come over and change the sheets. She was rude and seemed annoyed that her day was interrupted. We also had to hang around until she came back with the clean sheets an hour later. (My husband just told me that she was apologetic when she returned.) She also implied that they do not routinely clean all the linens between guests. Blankets and duvets covers seem to be recycled.

Pots and pans are old and scratched up Teflon, dishes needed to be re-cleaned before use. Next time I would skip this unit and look for other units in the building. After doing some research here on Trip Advisor there seem to be other units available for a lot less. If you do chose this condo I would bring my own cleaning supplies just in case.

I'm sure the owner will respond that we were refunded our cleaning fee. I would rather have a clean condo, not have the hassle or the "ick" factor than save the $95 cleaning fee.

Wow, this place was incredible. The views were amazing, free parking, very modern. I was surprised when I arrived and had a bottle of wine as a gift to celebrate my birthday from staff, really lovely. Perfect location, walking distance to all that Pacific Beach has to offer. Will 100% stay again!!

Room Tip: Request a newer condo

Absolutely loved it here! The views are amazing! The building was quiet, security was fantastic, and the parking garage is just a bonus!!
The Pacific Beach town is busy with lots of walkers, bicycles, etc.
The condo is just 15min to downtown, not a big deal at all.
There are 2 close by grocery stores to stock the full kitchen. Also lots of restaurants nearby, however parking to go eat or shop is a nightmare.
Our 2BR unit, 603 I would request again. The layout is perfect, king bed in master with the ocean right out floor to ceiling windows. 2nd BR has 2 queens and own bath. Living room is comfy, unit has updated furniture and kitchen. The whole front wall facing the ocean is floor to ceiling glass.
Paradise!!

I couldn't have picked a better place to stay while in San Diego. We paid $159 per night and booked on Expedia. We had a 3 bedroom 2 bath condo on the 5th floor. The building is very secure and you need a fob to enter the building and use the elevators. They have 24hr security and were available to answer questions and provide change for laundry.

Our condo was updated and spacious. The entire rear wall was glass and it provided a great ocean view. The location was awesome. We were able to walk to all the bars / restaurants in PB.

When I go back to PB I won't even look at other places to stay. This place is that good.

Very happy with our choice. We had unit 307, and it was great. This particular unit had a well stocked closet with beach chairs, boogie boards, cooler, sand toys...etc. Not sure that each room will have these as they seem to be individually owned. Free parking, awesome beach, lots of stuff within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is fabulous. Right on the boardwalk, overlooking the rolling waves, with the sound of the crashing surf. I live in San Diego, but during a week last summer at Capri by the Sea, I really FELT like I lived in San Diego. We rollerbladed, boogie boarded, had friends over to go to the beach/pool. Even though we worked during the week, we came back at the end of the day, and felt like we were on vacation.

The unit we had on the 1st floor was nicely decorated, very comfortable w/ both a queen bed and bunk bed in the bedroom (very convenient for the kids) and sofa bed in the living room (even closer to the sound of the crashing waves, but not especially comfortable - sofa beds rarely are).

Only real problem with the unit is that (at least if you're there on a timeshare exchange), it's more like renting a condo than a hotel. No daily or even weekly housekeeping service, except a change of towels and linens mid-week. Also, our microwave broke the 2nd day of our stay, and he basically told us it probably wouldn't be fixed until after we left (and it wasn't), so we were without a microwave all week, which was a bit of a pain, especially during hot August weather when we didn't want to have to use the oven. Also, no shampoo or conditioner in the unit; fortunately, I brought those. There are laundry facilities at the end of each floor.

There's a roof-top deck with a killer view in every direction, which has a BBQ grill on it and one simple picnic table and a couple simple loungers, but it looks like they really aren't encouraging people to use it, bcse there are no furnishings, decorations, or anything to make it look comfortable and inviting. And, in the summer, it's super hot w/ the sun reflecting off the roof, and there's not a single umbrella or lick of shade. Very strange. But, still a pretty awesome view.

There's free parking for 1 car, right in front (the best view of the place; strange place for a parking lot), and you can buy a week of parking for a 2nd car in a lot behind the building for $35/week (a bargain for beach parking - we did it). The pool and Jacuzzi aren't located on the beach side, but behind the building as well. It was a simple pool area, but the kids loved it, and we used it every day, especially to warm up after being in the ocean (there were showers to wash off the sand both near the garage and at the pool).

Overall, it was a great stay, loved the location and being so close to the beach, boardwalk and the fun beach nightlife. This is our second time at Capri by the Sea, and I would definitely return.

This is one of the nicest places that we have ever stayed. Upscale furniture, absolutely all of the utensils that you could possibly want to use. Widescreen TV, wonderful beach front view, balcony, gated parking, pool, beach. Who could ask for more? Very reasonable price too.
