After a long day at work in D.C., then a long flight to San Diego that I almost didn't get on due to a weight restriction, I finally arrived @ 10 pm at the San Diego airport and no place to stay. My flight to SFO the next morning was @ 6:20am so I was desparate to find a room as soon as possible. We are required to use a particular hotel and rental car link on our intranet but using it I was unable to find a hotel anywhere in San Diego. Finally, after about an hour on the phone, I was able to book directly with this hotel, near the airport, for my less than 7 hour stay there! It was inexpensive and very close to the airport, less than 5 minutes by taxi.

The room was a more typical of a motel than an "inn" to be truthful. The blanket was very dingy, thin, and old and pillows unimpressive. The room was clean enough but nothing to right home about. The street noise was also significant - my room, located on the ground floor, was not quiet. Having said this, it met my needs for this very, very short stay and for that I was grateful. It is close to resaurants in Little Italy just two blocks behind the hotel, away from the harbor, and across the railroad tracks.

Given the quality of the room appointments I think it was very overpriced. Just a few days later, I stayed at an Chicago O'Hare Hyatt for only $55.00/night that was infinately more pleasant, well-appointed, and newer.

A clean, affordable place with very nice personnel. Very helpful with giving directions and tips on getting around, etc. Parking was limited but that was expected due to it being downtown. The rooms were very clean, but the doors were a little drafty so it made it hard to keep the rooms comfortable. I would stay there again.

Great Service!! David and Meredith Rich, who work at the front
desk were very helpful. Comming back from a cruise we found
the battery was dead in our car. David was very helpful calling
the tow company and allowing us to use the facilities. Great
people and great service.

If you are planning to stay more than a day or two, find somewhere else. The rooms may have seemed clean, but how can you sanitize blue sheets? And sitting on the edge of the bed made the mattress flip up on your head. The room smelled, and the amenities were non-existent. The towels were a joke as they were the size of a handtowel, as well as in short supply. Hope you like being dried with sandpaper, as they are rough and thin... I loved the $2 per day surcharge for the safe and the $25.00 bottle of water. Funny there was no price sign noting the charge for water. The only positive note is that it had free internet.

Wanted a hotel near amtrak station, this hotel is about 5 or 6 blocks, cab fare was $5. Convenient to San Diego Pier we
sailed on cruise the following day. Staff is very pleasant and accomodating.
