Don't waste your money, this is an old property at an expensive rate. I booking a suite with a view and our view was of the gym. They charged $24 for parking. Definitely not worth the $260 a night charge.

Room Tip: Don’t stay here keep looking.

Dear Europe8,

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback regarding your recent stay. Comments such as yours assist us in identifying key points of our hotel that are less than satisfactory for our guests. I regret to learn that you were not satisfied with your stay, but I certainly appreciate your feedback. I would like to offer you an apology for any inconvenience you experienced as a result. Rest assured, I have shared your comments with our management team and will ensure we follow up appropriately.

We pride ourselves on delivering quality service and products to our guests, but in your case we fell short of this goal. I hope you can view this as an isolated incident and allow us another opportunity to provide you with the level of service you expect from the Hyatt during your next stay in San Diego.

I visited the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay for a conference that was held onsite. My room was in the tower overlooking the marina. The outdoor patio off my room on the 8th floor was furnished with very nice, comfortable chairs and table, nicer than most I've experienced. A fantastic place for morning coffee. The hotel staff is very accommodating and friendly, and gave me good advice for where to take an afternoon run. I would definitely stay here again.

An older Hyatt no doubt - if you can get a suite it makes all the difference. The service is spectacular as is many of the other Hyatts. As always my main point of contention is the charges for parking and wifi access. At this juncture, I would expect there to be free parking (as this is not located in the downtown core) and wifi access should be a given nowadays. Nevertheless this hotel has much to offer, from the beautiful view to the Red Marlin (they have a delicious hamburger) to the neighbouring hotels and their restaurants. It's not to far from virtual everything San Diego has to offer. The gym and other accommodations are better than average :D

This is an older Hyatt- rooms can be noisy especially those near elevator shafts. Views are great but to call this a resort property is a stretch and to charge a resort fee is an even bigger stretch..... unfortunately the resort fee will prevent me from staying here again while on business... i don't get reimbursed for it. I think some common sense should prevail when a Diamond Member is staying for one night during the week..... clearly not there for the resort! The pool is nice but it seems to be in a wind tunnel so not sure it would be enjoyable to sit around. The gym is basic and definitely needs new equipment..... probably won't be staying here again there are better alternatives (including Hyatts) in the area.

We travelled here for a long overdue vacation with two adults and two young kids. Our kids can't get enough of the pools. There are age appropriate pools for all ages with a water slide for the little ones. We are at the suites and the accommodations are perfect for the adults to get some space. Why I am rating the hotel as excellent is because of the exceptional service everywhere we turn. Service at the bar area is always with a small including from the helpful lifeguards. The regency lounge staff are awesome. A shout out to Joseph and Danny in the lounge. I have food allergies and every morning, they made special muffins for me. And they were super nice to our children. And with little kids, we were too tired to travel out to eat. We ate at red marlin every evening and the food choices for kids and adults alike were excellent. We will definitely be back!!

This hotel is a great place to stay in Chill San Diego. Not for the budget traveler, but you can save loads of money if you forgo a car at the airport and cab it everywhere for about 10 dollars. Close to Mission beach, Sea world and Old town; there is plenty to do for kids and adults alike.
The pools and pool lounge are fun for all ages and the food here is pretty good in general.
Hotel staff are professional and friendly and can recommend good places to eat and go in the area.
Room was kept clean and tidy by good housekeeping staff. Beds are comfortable and linens clean. I had no problem with the condition of the room or the cleanliness of the room.

As for the barking sea lions, I felt it added to the charm of the place ,the children loved the variety of wildlife and sea birds. The property is a tad secluded but that is what I liked about it. No hustle and bustle. Nights were quite and restful , and if it is excitement you want, it is a short cab, medium walk away at Mission Beach. All around good place to go if you really want to feel like you are on vacation. Recommended.
