This is a great hotel for both business and pleasure. It is walking distance to the convention center, seaport village shops and the gas lamp district. There is a light rail just outside that takes you everywhere else.
The rooms are fine and the value is excellent.
Be careful with the deli inside - ok food, not great service, but expensive.

I stayed at the Manchester Hyatt in San Diego for 4 nights. Close to the Gaslamp District, convention center (I was there for a conference), the Midway Battleship, Generation Walk, great restaurants. Perfect location for my purpose. The hotel itself is beautiful! Staff was very nice. Rooms comfortable. Comfortable beds, great view, modern amenities. My only negatives would be the high cost of internet which I would not pay for, the magnifying mirror was too small and was not attached to the wall for easy viewing, and not enough electrical outlets for charging various devices.

Room Tip: Ask for the harbor view.

This hotel was remodeled a few years ago, and Hyatt did a great job. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms are very nicely furnished. I asked for a quiet room and was given a room on a high floor with a view of the water. I did not hear a thing all night and slept like a baby, so I was happy. My package included a breakfast buffet, which was delicious and highly recommended. The hotel's location is also great, within a short walk of several restaurants in a safe neighborhood.

Hyatt has made an amazing impression with me time after time! I had to honor of staying at one of San Diego's finest hotels with some of the BEST customer service and overall ambiance ever! Let me start by saying that when you pull up to this beauty it looks like you are in hotel heaven! You are greeted by the courteous valet staff and they even open the doors for you! Parking of course is a little pricey($28 Self Parking/$40 Valet) but that comes with staying downtown San Diego! Check-in had to have been one of the best parts of staying here. I had the pleasure of being checked in by Gina! She provided world class customer service in the Hyatt Platinum section. Even though at this time I was only a GOLD passport member she provided me with the same level of service as if I was in a higher tier! Not to mention I was upgraded to a wonder Seaport Tower on the 25th floor I believe with a breathtaking view of the Seaport Village! Great way to celebrate my significant other's birthday! THANKS GINA!!! YOU ROCK! I will most definitely stay here again anytime I’m in San Diego!

I spent four nights at the Manchester when I was in San Diego for a conference. I was given a room on the 21st floor with a wonderful view of the Coronado Bridge/Island and the city. The room was quite spacious and very clean. The little refrigerator would have been convenient if I needed it. It not only had a couch, but also an easy chair. The bed was rock hard, but that is a matter of preference. The bathroom had a huge shower but no bathtub, although a friend's room did have one. Internet was free if you had a Hyatt Gold Passport (which they were happy to sign you up for at no charge). One criticism is that the rooms are not very soundproof. I could hear conversations in the hall. I ate at Lael's for breakfast twice. They only offer a buffet in the mornings and at $20 it is pricey, but every restaurant in this part of town fairly expensive. The food was hot and fresh, and the service was impeccable. The convention center was a convenient short walk away. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms in the Marina Tower seem to have better views.

Stayed at this hotel for 7 days for business. The location is close to excellent. You can walk to the marina, conventions center, Gaslamp district, supermarket, shopping, the trolley, etc. It was remodelled a couple of years ago, so the rooms look new. Currently the gym is under construction, so they give you a pass to go work out at the Marriott. Plenty of outlets, nice USB charging station. I had a couple of housekeeping snafu's like such only half of my room would get cleaned, however, those were quickly taken care of by the management. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor with a bay view.

Spent 4 nights on the 10th floor of this hotel. I was there for a conference. The hotel is located on in the Embarcadero Boardwalk area which is a great place to walk around at night and grab a souvenir or a quick bite to eat. A short cab ride to the Gas Lamp district. For the price, there are several hotels I would recommend more in the Gaslamp area. This is one of the largest hotels in San Diego.
