We were there over Christmas for six nights and stayed in a conference suite. It did the job but we started out on the Harbor side and the view was of a rooftop, and while the city is pretty, we came to see the bay side, so we switched to the other tower. The furniture is not comfortable in these rooms, it's vinyl (easier to clean) and they are not big on extras, of anything, meaning you have to ask for them to bring everything to your room (cups, glasses, extra tissues, pillows, etc) which means you need to tip every time they bring you something. It is a very classy hotel with the coldest air conditioned hallways ever. I have to say, the staff at the hotel and Redfield's were fantastic! I can't say much about the pullout sofabed, it was not comfortable - if you can avoid sleeping on it, do. The great part though, was we had separate bathrooms. The conference suites are more for sales reps passing through who need showrooms, etc. But it does do the trick if you want separate living quarters with two full bathrooms, which was nice. All in all, I would stay there again but I would want a regular bed -which I heard was very comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel, it was in the perfect location with great staff, and right across from lots of shops, restaurants and wonderful views.

The Manchester Hyatt is a special place. The hotel is beautiful and the area is clean and beautiful. We went to California planning to rent a car and explore but we never left the hotel area. There is plenty to do and the public transportation is cheap and right across the street. I cannot wait to go back!

Room Tip: Try to get the highest room available. The views from your room are pretty nice and you can spend a...

We had 2 rooms on the 10th floor late December 2013 for 5 nights. Great location, clean & tidy rooms, good facilities, with exception of gym which was undergoing refurbishment. Friendly staff. The only gripe was the elevators in the south wing. Hopelessly slow because I suspect some of them were out of service leaving the remainder overworked. On several occasions we got fed up with waiting and actually took the stairs; very ordinary.

Stayed here for a Thanksgiving Family vacation. The hotel is beautiful, has everything to offer. Great proximity to Sea Port Village, jet ski rentals, boat trips, the USS Midway- all in walking distance. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. We were on one of the higher floors so the view was outstanding. Service was outstanding - I would highly recommend and will stay here again if traveling back to the area.

Located near the Marina area, the hotel has 2 buildings with large swimming pools and a handful of jacuzzi tubs. However, judging from the crowd, I didn't get into the swimming pool. Rooms are decent but not spectacular, typical Hyatt style. Walking distance to the gas lamp district (quite a walk). Staff is OK but not super helpful. Hard to expect a large hotel like that to get everything right so that's OK. Will probably stay there again simply because of the location and view (yes, water view!).

Our room was on the high floor in the seaport tower (newer), has partial city and water view. The room has a specious layout, was very clean and newly renovated, also with an openable window allow us to get some fresh air, which is a feature I really like. The hotel lobby is absolutely gorgeous, reminds me of Palazzo in Vegas. The outdoor pool is not big but has a nice setting. The top of Hyatt bar is on the 40th floor in the harbor tower, it was a truly pleasure watching the fabulous bay view while sipping our favorite drinks.

The property is actually pretty big, you can easily spend an hour to explore its various interesting sections.

The hotel location is great, right next to the seaport village, about 10-minute walk to Gaslamp, where many good restaurants, bars and shops are located.

It was not my top choice when I planned our recent X’mas trip to San Diego. But I got a very good package deal from expedia. Overall, I’m glad that I made the right choice.

Room Tip: ask for room on the high floor with water view.

We stayed here for two nights in January. The hotel is very nice. Roomy, comfortable bed, great tv. The location is convenient for access to buses, cruise ships and trains. We walked a few blocks to Petrini's for breakfasts and then rode Bus 7 to Balboa Park for a day at the zoo and another day discovering the great museums there. Great view from our room over the harbor.
