“Great Experience at the Manchester”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

Travelled with my elderly mother, so as soon as we got off the cab, walked to the nice lobby/ reception area, and there was no seating!!! My mother can't stands for long and I would like to have her sit down and relax, while I was taking care of registration. There are seating areas all the way on the left and right wings. However, registration process was quick, I even got upgraded, when I mentioned I would like a room with nice view for my mother, who likes to look out the window. Turned out, she spent quite a lot of time watching cruise ships left and watch the sunset almost every evening we stayed there, before we went out for dinner. The room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and descent size. We had two double bed room. Breakfast at Lael's was just ok, we had better. Top of the Hyatt is a must, food/ drinks were average, but the view is priceless. If you just want to look at the view, just go up, and take pictures. We did not use the pool, but went to just look around and take pictures, very nice, and quiet, as it was a bit cool.
The location of this hotel is excellent, walk towards the Seaport side, and all the dining choices are there. We went to Roy's a few doors away at the Marriot, and other dining choices are within walking distance. Also the hop-on/ off buses, and the Duck tour are right at the Seaport. Even with my mother's condition (can't walk too much), she was able to enjoy and see most of San Diego. We had a very good time and a very happy stay at the Manchester. Will definitely come back!

Room Tip: Higher floor facing the water

What a great hotel. From its service, rooms with a view, location all in all first class. Seaport Village is right there and the activity in this area is fantastic. Ordered room service for breakfast that was excellent and quick to the room. Overall, a great spot and 5 star hotel.

From the moment we walked in, we were moving. The grand lobby was humongous, plenty of stuff to check everyone in the hotel. Our room was on the 14th floor, with a great view of San Diego harbor, restaurants, shops. Located in front of Seaport Village, where there are plenty of places to visit. Just a few blocks from the Gas Lamp district, which is a short walk. Our king room was well appointed, very clean, with desk, lounge sofa in front of the window. Large, and again, very clean bathroom. Will definitely stay here again when in San Diego!

Room Tip: Room on the North side was very quiet.

Whatever you do, pay the extra for a corner king bedded room! the view to Coronado is amazing. Walking around the Seaport Village is out the back door. Had dinner on the edge of Little Italy at a great place called Indigo Grill. Great service and even better food. Topped off the night with drinks at Searsucker. Cool hangout. On your way out the door of the Hyatt, leave enough time for the Grand Buffet Breakfast. Be sure to try the Jalapeno Chicken Sausage. Yum. Cheers to the Front Desk Agents, too. Very friendly for a convention hotel. Someone has taken the time to train them. Go Hyatt!

Room Tip: Corner King!!

This is a really nice convention hotel. The lobby is quite grand. The checkin was easy. We had a view of part water and part city, which was nice. The room was spacious and clean and included a mini fridge. I was able to easily get to the different areas of the hotel for my conference. The hotel is conveniently located near the water, shopping, restaurants, etc. You do have to pay extra for internet in your room. There was some difficulty with getting it to work but did resolve after talking to the hotel's IT people. The gym was modern and had a nice view of the outside. The hotel is beautiful and good for conferences.

We stayed in a corner king room as high up as we could get, with a view of the bay--it was an awesome view! The corner king was fun and unique with all its windows. The bedroom was quite large; the bathroom was unimpressive. The pool was awesome and the entrance/lobby is very regal. It's super close to Seaport Village, the USS Midway, the ballpark, and the Gaslamp Quarter.

Room Tip: go for a corner king with a view of the bay!
