“Big but attentive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 February 2014

The hotel complex is huge but unlike many other similarly large places the staff here have not lost sight of their purpose, to provide excellent service with an individual touch. My room was pleasant and very well maintained. I was there for a meeting over the course of two days and with each encounter with the hotel staff, including the valet parking, check-in and those helping in the meeting rooms I was very impressed by the friendliness and attention. Very well done. A model for other large/convention hotels.

I understand that a building makes up a hotel but it's the people that make it memorable. I have shared your comments with our Hosts who are take pride in providing our guests with the kind of service they expect from Marriott. I appreciated your kind post sincerely hope we will see you back here soon.
Kind regards,
Jeanine Spencer

Perfect location for our trip to San Diego. Beautiful views from the room of the ball field and got to check out the fireworks after a game. Loved the proximity to the pier and boardwalk area. Room itself was very nice and clean. One major complaint was the parking situation. The parking garage was full and the self service lot had very small parking spaces not suited for SUV's.

This hotel just became one of my favorite Marriott hotels. It is modern and has all kinds on things to do on the property. Rooms are very nice.

It is in a fantastic location. Close to everything downtown.

The views are outstanding from this hotel. Ocean or city. Both are great.

Service is top notch. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great time.

We will definitely stay here again.

The location is absolutely perfect. A couple of minutes to the shops and restaurants on the wharf and the same with the gas lamp disrict the other way. Spent ten minutes walking by maybe 30 restaurants before settling on sitting outside and having tapas in the gas lamp area. Very enjoyable place to walk and enjoy the atmosphere.

The first time we stayed at the Marriott Marquis was for my husband's convention. This time we stayed for a family event. The views of the harbor and Coronado are great. Each time we enjoy the buffet. The hotel is an excellent starting point for excursions, trolleys, and restaurants. One suggestion, if self-parking a vehicle, you will have to walk a distance to park your car in the evening.

My husband took me to the Marriott Marquis for a weekend getaway to celebrate my birthday.
This hotel definitely surpassed my expectations and we can not wait to return.
Not only are the accommodations top-notch, the staff was exceptional in providing what I consider to be exemplary service.

The trip was booked through a third party, which can sometimes impact the level of service received. This was not the case at the Marquis. We checked-in, were not pleased with our initial room and were cheerfully switched to a better location.

The concierge, bellhops and room service personnel could not have been any nicer. We were looking for a place to buy bottled water upon arrival and a gentleman who works security at the hotel offered to deliver water to our room. He would not accept a gratuity and delivered enough water for us to get us through the evening.

Additionally, we could not have been in a better location. We had a car, but walked everywhere. You can easily get to the Gas Lamp District, catch the trolley, or stroll along the waterfront.

We honestly could not have been happier and are looking forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the bay. No matter the location of your room, you will enjoy the expansive vie...

The best location. On the bay front and also close to the Gas Lamp quarter. Good bay view from the terrace. A little pricy for the services. At best 3.5 star service level. Wi-Fi was down when checked in. Took a long time to get connected to service desk. It was fixed soon though.
