This Marriott was my first contact with San Diego and I ended up moving here....convention center next door, great pool- and fitness area, walk to Gaslamp district and the (baseball) game - views of the yachts in the marina and great jogging/walking along the waterside. I can't think of anything that's missing here. In 4 days I ended up *never* using my rental car. There is a definite quality of life to be felt in this hotel.

Room Tip: Facing the marina and above the 6th floor (duh)

stayed for business, so wanted to eat outdoors by the pool in the short time we had for a break, but the service was not good at all. The pool is amazing, and the outdoor set up is beautiful; if they get their act together and have enough attentive staff on hand, it'd be perfect.

Room Tip: the ocean view rooms are better than the city-side, and if you want a balcony - ASK for one - they a...

I stayed here for a convention held both in the hotel and convention center. The hotel itself is updated, clean and had a good selection of restaurants. The gift shop had a large beverage selection and offered discounts for Elite status members...

The location is great and a very short walk to the convention center. Also a short walk in the opposite direction is restaurants and shopping.

Highly recommended for business or a vacation trip.

Room Tip: South tower has balconies

This was our 4th year celebrating the end of school with our 3 children - and the hotel just keeps getting better! The service was outstanding, the Exchange Grab and Go was a perfect alternative to room service for a family of five and the pool area is perfect. Bike and boat rentals are just steps away as is Seaport Village and the Gas Lamp district. Great parks for the kids in walking distance as well as many reasonable dining options. Finally checked out the Hyatt next door and it felt more like Vegas than San Diego and the Hilton is just to far away. We'll be back to the Marriott for year 5!

I stayed here for a conference at the convention center and it was conveniently located to the convention center. It's a nice property, lots of amenities and dining options, the pool is gorgeous and lush in decor (feels like Hawaii). There are lots of lounge chairs, soft seating, fire pits at night that are lit.

Room was very clean, and modern, beautiful shower, although weak shower pressure.

Loved the walking/running paths that are just outside the hotel, so convenient.

Room Tip: Stayed in south tower 1559- had a bay facing room, beautiful view of harbor and pool Note: entire...

We arrived in early from San Francisco (well before check in) for a quick one night stay. I used mobile check in and was quickly given a room as they were expecting me. I was on a high floor facing the city with a wonderful view. You could hear the light rail and trains below at certain times but it was never intrusive. The location of this hotel is the biggest selling point. You are a few blocks from Gaslamp, Petco Park, and all of downtown. The marina is beautiful and you can watch the US Navy ships slide in and out of the harbor. We were headed to the USS Midway which is a short walk away as well.

The pool was wonderful as were the hotel grounds. Staff was friendly. The hotel was very busy on a Monday night as a big convention must have been in town. My only regret was that we were not staying longer than one night.

The experience that my wife and I had while staying at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina gave us memories that will last the rest of our lives. The room provided gave us a breath taking view of the marina, harbor, Coronado Island all the way to the Pacific Ocean waking up and going to sleep. The staff from checking in to the concierge desk to the bartenders to housekeeping all were very pleasant and helpful everyday of our stay. The food no matter were we bought it was great and the hotel had to be the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. Not only did they make my wife's first visit to California a memorable one for her, but made our 30 year anniversary something we will remember for a very long time. We haven't stopped talking about our experience since we've been home. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel if you plan on visiting San Diego.

Room Tip: All the rooms are amazing but for a great view ask for a higher floor on the west end of either towe...
