One of the features that make this Motel above the rest is it's cleanliness. I stayed in a smoking room, by request, and you couldn't tell that it was a smoking room. No oder and everything was awesome. Very sharp and comfortable. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and motels but I have to say that this was one of the best. On a scale of 1-10 it was at the top. Thank you guys for being so pleasent. The beakfast was awesome to, although I am an egg fan, I missed that. But the waffles were awesome. I will be staying there every time I visit San Diego. Being right across the street from Old Town resturants was a big plus. Thanks again and we'll see you again soon.

The location of the hotel is initially offputting - right next to the 6-lane Pacific Coast Highway, near a railway line and near the airport, so there is plenty of noise from cars, trains and planes. However, we got a room (number 144) as far as possible from the Highway, and it was pretty quiet. In other respects, the location of the hotel is excellent, a short walk to Old Town and the Transit Centre with trolley and bus connections. Its a short drive to Sea World, Downtown and Balboa Park (where we spent 3 days visiting museums).

The hotel grounds and pool are well cared for, the staff are friendly and attentive and the free breakfast is quite good. We had a Queen Economy room, nicely furnished though a bit cramped, with wireless internet. The price of $89/night including taxes was excellent value, since you could easily pay a lot more in San Diego.

We would recommend the Old Town Mexican Cafe at 2489 San Diego Avenue.

My family needed to stay at a hotel while the floors were being redone at our home. We were looking for; value, location, dog friendly, all mixed with genuine hospitality. We could not of been more pleased with our stay at The Old Town Inn. The staff is very well trained in providing each traveler with hospitality specific to one's individual needs. The lobby is very inviting with a fire going on cooler winter days and nights. As a resident of San Diego I am aware of how well situated this Inn is to downtown, nightlife, airport, and tourist attractions. Very nice restaurants are within walking distance in Old Town. With rooms at different price points, and all of them well appointed and clean, this Inn deserves serious consideration for the traveler.

Had the attendant ask me if I wanted the radio turned down as I was reading. Great location close to trains, planes, rental cars, shopping and tourism/coast.

I have to say the room was super clean and comfortable. They had DVD's to take back to your room if you wanted to check one out from the many offered in the office. The breakfast that is served by the hotel is awsome! not just your average donuts and coffee they have everything even a make your own waffle station! A cute pool and area to kick back with your friends and family and even a gas BBQ grill in the pool area for the guest to use. They also had a laundry for the guest to wash if needed, ( dont go home with diry clothes!) i was so impressed with this cute little gem of a hotel. Not to mention it has a nice convience store very close by to purchase your drinking needs ( of the Adult kind.) And here is the best part they are a Gay Friendly hotel for all you family out there.

A big group of us from Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada stayed in the Old Town Inn to debrief after a Missions Trip in Mexico, and found it to be cozy and pristinely clean. We spent most of our days exploring beautiful Historic Old Town because it was a very short walk away from the hotel. The breakfast was delicious, with make-your-own waffles, fruit cocktail, and lots of cereals, bagels and pastries, and there was always someone on hand to cheerfully refill the cream, or the coffee, or whatever was even close to running low. One of my favorite parts was the always full ice-cold water jug with fresh lemon slices that was as much a piece of art as it was a refreshing drink.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the pool relaxing, and the key-lime-pie candies and movie-lending-library in the lobby were nice touches. I would definitely go back!

We fly in and out of San Diego at least annually to visit family several miles northeast of there. We've tried several hotels in and around San Diego to stay theday before our return flight so we don't have to try to drive a few hours on the day of our flight home. We like the Old Town Inn best of those we've tried. It's convenient to everything, clean, homey and friendly staff make it ideal for our needs. Staying there is a nice end to our trip and leaves us relaxed rather than anxious for the flight home.
