Spent two nights here at end of October. In all honesty, it wasn't bad at all, Clean rooms and bathroom, comfortable bed. But be warned, NOISY!! It is right under the flight path to San Diego Airport; Seriously, the planes pass less than 200 feet overhead while on final approach to the airport. If you are a light sleeper, then DO NOT stay here. But, if you can survive the noise, and it isn't too bad late at night; then this may be a good cheap place to save a few bucks. Plenty of parking, and fairly convenient to the Harbor, and Downtown, easily walkable, as well as easy access to Interstate 5 and a short drive to Point Loma and Sea World. And not too far to walk to Balboa Park and The Zoo. Nice HDTV with plenty of local channels as well as cable/satellite channels.
Rooms service was good, plenty of towels and bathroom vey clean with lots of hot water.
All in all, for a Motel 6, not bad.

PROs: Wendy at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Cool AC. Relatively clean. Affordable rate. Great for access to airport and other attractions.

CONs: Loud group of younger kids were hanging outside of the front office. No clock. The remote to the TV didn't work. Relatively clean but bedding was a bit beat up and toilet wasn't cleaned as well as one would like.

OVERALL: Like others have said - single and short term it will do. Families and business-minded folks probably want another place to stay. I'd stay here again if I had to but would probably try another place first.

We stayed 3 nights. It was a last minute vacation plan so I did not have other choice than this hotel. They don't offer breakfast(only coffee)Not too bad location; but it gets noisy. The motel is approximately 4 miles from San Diego Zoo, Sea World and Balboa Park.I did not have a bad experience because we only use the room to sleep but for the price; they need to include at least a microwave in the rooms.Even though they have fridge in the room, if I ever go back to San Diego I am not planning on staying at this motel.

We stayed 5 nights and it was a last resort choice because our reservations somewhere else were lost. It was not as bad as we thought it would be, the rooms were clean & did not smell as other reviews have said, it was in a convienant spot close to everything.
Since it is close to the airport you'll see planes landing and they get real close. Everything was good i wouldnt mind staying here again.

We stayed here at the beginning of July and were quite surprised that we got such a good deal for a 3 night stay, especially over the July long weekend. Room was basic but it was perfect for us. If you are quite sensitive to noise than you'll want to avoid this hotel as it is right over the flight path into San Diego Airport. But thanks to noise bylaws you'll only hear them between 6am and Midnight. Noise from the train tracks were a little bothersome, try and get a room on the south side if you want to avoid the noise.

We had the 2 double beds room and it was worked for me and my girlfriend, beds were comfortable, the AC worked fined and the bathroom was fairly modern, although the shower heads could be improved, wasn't the world's greatest shower flow. Only downside I could find was the pool, its big but rarely gets cleaned of all the palm tree leaves that fall in there. Did find it a bit wasteful that they throw out soap bars and replace them with new ones even after only 1 day of use. Very close to the Zoo and the harbor, best to rent a car if you are staying close to the airport. Overall, it worked for us and would come back again someday, great place if you are traveling on a budget and don't need many amenities.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on the south side, rooms on the north side are right next to the railroad tracks...

I arrived to a lukewarm reception, as in, the flattest welcome ever. I was shocked to have to pay for a shuttle. The room was dark, and depressing. The bedding was stained, ripped and stale. There was no fitted sheet and the extra blankets I requested were disgusting and had holes in them. Not enough towels, lousy bar of soap and gross crud in the corners of the bathroom. To top it all off, airplanes are coming in right over the top of this place as it's in the direct flight line of the airport. You can literally see tread on the tires of those planes, it's shocking how close they get. The planes are very loud and vibrate the room. This happened very frequently. In addition it's located right next to a strip club and the worst looking Denny's I've ever seen. You will leave feeling like you need a tetanus shot. There is no coffee pot. No breakfast. This was way beyond minimal and I'm minimal. This was a royal rip off. The night staff lady was very rude. The shuttle was late to pick me up and take me to the airport. I have been a loyal 6er but this was it for me, no mas!

Room Tip: The whole place needs to be demolished!
