“Lovely, Friendly with lots of greenery”
Reviewed 14 September 2010

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Everyone was so friendly. Every one said "Good morning" as I passed by - housekeeping, maintenance, other staff. The suite was a good size and had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The bed was firm and lots of pillows were on the bed. The sheets and towels were bright white and smelled clean. The air conditioning worked great and I had a nice view of the pool. The walls were a little thin, and it was hard to get used to the slamming doors but I suppose that's just the way it is at a hotel. The breakfast was terriffic - bacon, eggs, hasbrowns, waffels, bagels, yogurt, oatmeal, and juice. The pool was nice looking and inviting, although I did not try it out. I enjoyed going for walks around the area, there were a lot of trees and flowers. I definately would stay here again.

Free breakfast was nice, if you don't mind sharing it with a SOLD OUT hotel, complete with two college sports teams in house, and no where to sit down and enjoy it. I felt bad for the staff when I saw front desk agents, cooks, and bellmen bussing tables, and refilling food and beverage stations with only one server on duty.
The rooms were average, nothing special, and the bathroom / vanity area fits one person only. If we weren't so tired from our San Diego activities, the sound of a bathroom fan like ROTOR originating from behind the headboard would've kept us awake all night. To satisfy my curiousity, I stepped into the guest hallway and heard the same sounds coming from every room all the way down to the elevator landing at 2am in the morning. The hotel has two elevators, but only one was working, so on a sold out weekend, we had the unfortunate task of having to stop at every floor, and watch families get stuck hoping that the next elevator would be able to accomodate them.
As a former hotel employee of ten years, I recommend future guests to always ask reservations staff what the hotel occupancy will be in order to avoid situations like these, so if price is your goal and you don't mind being in a full house, this is for you!
Parking: Free but be prepared to walk
Security: Mira Mesa area of San Diego-OK
Cleanliness: Just like visiting your in-laws house
Access to freeway and local attractions: Very Good
Bed: Clean
Pool: Didn't use
Staff: Professional, Friendly, College Student Types

We have stayed at this hotel before, a couple of years ago. Summer is the peak season for San Diego so hotels are higher priced, but we got this 2 queen room for $134 per night plus we paid an extra $5 upgrade for the top 7th floor room. It had a good view. This hotel is a little north of downtown SD , but not too far from everything if you have a car. The parking is free and has room to park a pickup. Something hard to come by in SD. We stayed 4 nights and the free breakfast was good. Plenty to choose from: scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, different potato each day, make your own waffles, french toast, oat meal, cold cereals, breads yogert, fruit, juice, coffee. Cookies in the evening & always coffee. There's an evening bar and light room service meals. A Chili's in the parking lot. Good selection of restaurants & shopping on east Mira Mesa Blvd. Room was clean and a good size. Thermostat for AC/heat worked well. The beds were quality but a little too firm for me. Free internet worked well for our laptop, alittle slow for video streaming. This is a good hotel. You can't go wrong. We will stay here again.

Good location, but ... AC did not work in room, sofa sleeper had dirty incomplete bedding, never any pool towels, and restaurants in area close early do to functioning primarily as lunch outlets for area businesses

Our family of four stayed six nights in a 2-queen room while on vacation in Southern California. We have no complaints. The front desk, breakfast, and lounge employees were helpful and accommodating. The room was clean, roomy, and quiet. We slept great. This Country Inn, like all the others that I've stayed at across the country, offers a solid value.

The location worked well for us as we wanted to enjoy the north San Diego beaches and city without the hassle of downtown congestion and parking. It also made our day trip to Los Angeles easier.

The breakfast was exceptional. The daily selections included eggs, sausage or bacon, potatoes, french toast, waffles, muffins, toast, yogurt, cereals, juices, and many other choices. The dining area was kept extremely orderly and fully stocked.

The hotel has a nice pool, landscaping and grounds, and plenty of parking. There is a Chili's restaurant next door and all the other common franchises within 4-5 miles. This hotel will be our first choice if we return.

This is the first time I had bed bugs in the hotel. They got spread to my appartment back home and I'm just about to get completely rid from them.
I'm passing the word to anyone I know from Qualcomm and other companies not to stay there.

We stayed here last month....finally getting around to writing a review. We booked this place through Expedia for about USD $95 / night + taxes. We had our 2 boys, 8 & 11. Had a room with 2 queens. By booking non-direct you may end up with a king and sofa bed or 2 queens - that's the hotel's option. Fortunately we received what we requested.

This hotel is out of the way but was perfect for us as it was smack between Legoland and Sea World. You'll need a car if you book into here.

We booked because it was a decent hotel (not a motel), lots of free parking and because of the free breakfast buffet (GREAT value for families). It was the only one I could find in this price range that had a pretty full buffet - they always had 3 hot dishes (eggs, bacon, sausages, has browns, etc). It was fairly booked up so the breakfast timing was fairly important if you wanted the waffles (bit of a line-up!). They had a sufficient amount of fresh fruit at breaky for the healthy conscious. They also had a jar of apples or cookies depending on the time of the day near the check-in desk.

Rooms were quite spacious...something you notice with 4 people, even if 2 of them are of the short version. Pool looked fine but we didn't have time to use it.

Counter staff were great. I read about some bad experiences but we absolutely didn't get any of that. We were blessed with wonderful people at the front desk.

We didn't think the hotel was very dated. It was a very nice 3 star hotel. Sorry, no pics.

It would have been great if there was a mini-fridge there, but its absence was hardly significant. Would definitely stay there again.
