“No Hot Water”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

We arrived at the hotel and had no hot water. I called and asked them to fix the issue. The maintenance people came by and said that there is a 150 gallon water heater for all the rooms on the floor. I called the manager and he said there were a lot of people staying in the hotel and maybe all the hot water was used and I should wait. They could not move us because all the rooms were booked. My 70 year old mother had to take a cold shower. In the mean time I could take a shower in the bathroom they allow the boaters to use.I would have stayed at the YMCA if I wanted to do that. This continued for 3 days. The maintenance people did work hard to fix the issue. At check out they gave us $200.00 off the room which is my opinion is unacceptable. So if you don't like hot water and stupid excuses from Clark the manager stay at the BAHIA.

Green Features: If you want hot water go to a different hotel, I guess they are saving money on gas.

This is quite the worst hotel I have stayed in. The staff are lovely, the food average but quite acceptable, the rooms are large & dated but adequate (bit smelly). But the noise! Gaggles of teenage girls holding meetings in the corridors till late, gangs of boys in the lifts riding up and down - where are the parents? These kids are only 14/15! Skateboarding through the reception parking area at 12.40 in the morning, constant door slamming till after three, people yelling from the ground floor to those on the balconies on the third floor, people on their balconies partying at three in the morning. I thought I was coming to a family hotel not a frat house! If you get here and your room number starts 600 and you are not a party person dont stay. I wish I hadn't. Don't let them tell you this was just because of some function, these people were not dressed to be guests of any event. These are "regular" guests. We thought we were getting a couple of days to relax on the beach before our flight home but we won't be getting it here!

Room Tip: Any where not near the reception or car parks (so that's not many of them!)

We recently stayed at the Bahia during our tour of America, for 3 nights......wish it was longer & certainly will be booking for longer next time. We stayed in room 125, with 2 double beds & plenty of space for 4 adult's. But what an amazing view of our own private beach & water sports & sunset set just paradise.

Great, resort style hotel in Mission Beach. An easy 5 minute walk to the beach and Belmont Park. Also within walking distance are eateries, shopping and of course access to the strand for biking walking or skateboarding. There is a strand on both sides, the ocean side or bay side with plenty of bike rental locations within walking distance or at hotel. The hotel was nice and roomy for a family of 5. Kitchen had adequate supplies, the bare minimum of what is needed. A large grocery store (Ralphs) is about a 10 minute drive away (north towards Pacific Beach). There are great views of the bay and sunset or Sea World fireworks from the large balcony depending on where your room location is. There is a nice pool, small gym and really large hot tub to relax in till 11pm every night. No complaints about the hotel. Service was as would be expected at a resort style hotel as this. I would recommend staying here!

Room Tip: Sea World side for nightly fireworks. West side for sunset views.

well our stay was good i loved how close we were to the water! but be careful when you want to do activites there. like paddel boarding, and ect. that they have there. the first day we get there me and my husband wanted to do something fun since we just got there. we thought we would try something new like paddel boarding. well we did and not even ten min later my husband was paddeling out on the bay and he notice that the paddel didnt fill right. and let me tell you this was our first time ever doing that. and once my husband took another stroke in the water with his paddel the bottom came off and fall into the water. no were to be found. well before that a young man adjusted the paddel for his hight and he didnt clip it in right so it was never on right. a person that was trained to do that didnt do his job right. we told the people that worked there where you rent, and they made us look for it, and we'er from the rocky montains and its our first time swimming in a ocean. They made it seem like it was soo easy to dive down there and find it well it wasnt. so this whole thing wanst our fault. but they still made us pay for a whole hour and plus a new paddel. just be aware when you do any activites there. we paid over 100 for like 7 min. This wasnt a great start to our vacation. soo be sooooo careful!!! they just want your money they didnt care to help. But the stay was awesome the room was great and so was the cruz.

Room Tip: bay front rooms are awesome!

I had the pleasure of attending the Brazilian Carnaval show and dinner at the Bahia. What a great experience! The food was excellent, the setting...right on the beach, views of the sunset, soft sugary sand, authentic entertainment such a great evening. I would recommend this event to anyone who is in the San Diego area. Thank you to Trish and Zach from sales for including us and being so fun! Zach if you ever change careers...you may think about joining the dancers.

Room Tip: The rooms right on the beach are awesome. Very large with nice outdoor space.

My two friends and I went the the "Carnival" dinner show at the Bahia Resort and were amazed! From the warm welcome upon arrival, to the animal interaction, to the excellent food and drinks to the dancers, musicians and performers, it was AMAZING!! We were also very fortunate to have met Zach Anderson the National Sales Manager who gave us history on the resort and Mission Bay. I highly recommend this to anyone who is ready to be entertained!
