We were married at the Bahia last September (2013), our experience was amazing. Beth was such a joy to work with! The entire planning process was stress free and totally enjoyable. Our wedding day was a dream come true. Everything went according to plan! A year later, our guests are still saying our wedding was the most fun, beautiful wedding they have attended! I highly recommend the beach ceremony and reception on the William D Evans. I wish we could do it all over again; I wouldn't have changed a thing! We cannot wait to go back and stay for our first anniversary!

We spent three nights at the hotel. The whole check-in experience was a disorganized mess, which didn't leave a good first impression. The resort seems to be painfully understaffed.

The room was OK, but nothing special. It could use a nice refresh. There is lots to do on the grounds from the swimming pool and beach to free tennis and shuffleboard. You can rent a wide variety of items for water sports as well.

The price this hotel can charge is obviously all about location, being surrounded by water on three sides and only a short walk to Belmont Park / Mission Beach.

It's convenient if you are planning a trip to Sea World. Not the easiest spot to explore the rest of San Diego from though.

I doubt we would choose to stay here again.

We stayed 4 nights at the Bahia. When we checked in I was informed that our bayside room was located on the second floor and did not have direct beach/bay access. This was not acceptable to me. The hotel website does not stipulate whether your room will be on the first or second floor so this is a little deceptive. Why would you book a room that is bayside if you cant walk directly our to the water? When I challenged the hotel clerk on this, he asked the manager to intervene. At this point the manager claimed that he needed to take a walk around the hotel grounds to find us a room! This was bizzarre! In the age of computers and advanced communications devices like smart phones, he could not find a ground floor room by looking at his computer or calling his head housekeeper? He had to walk and find it. Finally after an hour, he came back and proclaimed that he found a room! As if it was lost and he discovered the room wandering around without a tenant. I almost burst out laughing. This was a bad start but the rest of the stay was very relaxing. This hotel is not luxurious. And it is in serious need of upgrades. But it is clean and comfortable. It is close to all the tourist attractions and it is not a stuffy place. I have stayed at some of the more posh places in San Diego and I prefer a place like this that has a family atmosphere. We will be back but the next time I will call the front desk to make my reservation and stipulate that I want a ground floor room.

Thank you for writing in and we appreciate hearing you'll return for another stay. When booking a Bay Front Suite (all of which were renovated in early 2014) through our web site, we state "Request for first or 2nd floor will be noted but cannot be guaranteed." By calling our reservations department, however, you are indeed able to guarantee your preferred floor. Some of our Bay Front Suites have slightly obstructed views of Mission Bay because of palm trees, and if you specifically asked about the view, then that would be the only reason one of our front desk managers would have to walk to a room. We look forward to seeing you again.

I recently stayed at the Bahia for a long weekend with a few girlfriends. The experience from checking in at the front desk to the entire stay was awesome!! By the way, Mike C at the front desk was our first interaction and he made us feel so at home. The Bahia ia a beautiful resort!
We had a room with our own private beach on the bay! I would hightly recommend this resort!
Every encounter that we had with Bahia staff was positive. The location is also a plus. Close to Sea World and the beach! Go check it out!

Room Tip: A room on the bay with your own private beach and cabana was awesome!!

The price is way overrated to stay in a dump overlooking a bay that is filled with loud obnoxious locals out late bar b queuing and cursing . So disappointed. Do not waste money in mission bay . Go to la jolla or coronado

I went here the other night for a nice dinner with a friend. Upon arrival we were greeted promptly and seated immediately on the gorgeous outside patio. I server Zoltar (spelling sorry!) walked over and took our drink order quickly and courteously. We both asked for waters and wine, the wine was delicious.
I asked our server for his favorite selections of entrees after we ordered Crab Cakes for appetizer. The crab cakes were TO DIE FOR, delicious with just a hint of lemon that was perfect. After we choose our entrees, Pork Spare Ribs and Scallops, we got to listen to the wonderful lounge singer and piano player.
Our entrees arrived and they were HUGE portions and super delicious. Finally we decided to order a shared dessert. We got the mint chocolate cheesecake on recommendation of Manager Joe, who had come to ask us how our meal had gone. The cheesecake was amazing. I wish we could have eaten it all.

The hotel was gorgeous and the meal was delicious. Thank you Kadi Duff for recommending my dinner here! I am so happy!

Stayed at the Bahia for 4 nights in August.
The resort is rather old and dated, in need of updating.
The restaurants are nice and child friendly, reasonably priced, good food. Took the cruise on the complementary paddle steamer and really enjoyed it.
Was pretty disappointed to get a second floor apartment when I had requested a ground floor when I booked.
Great location close to SeaWorld and on the bay.
Nice pool and plenty of family friendly activities at the resort.
There is a resident seal in an enclosure next to the restaurant which my kids loved to see every morning at breakfast.

Room Tip: Ground floor family suite
