“Fabulous Stay-cation!!!!”
Reviewed 1 September 2014

We decided to beat the heat for a couple days (our place had no AC) and stay near the beach. We had been here before for Mother's Day brunch so we decided to give the place a try. It's right on Mission Bay so great for swimming, paddle boarding and general relaxing! Our room was comfortable but one of the best part of our stay was the Mediterranean Buffet! Chef Fuad explained all the dishes in detail and with such pride you felt like you were a guest in his home. The rest of the staff were also extremely friendly and welcoming. Crystal talked and joked with us as we picked our delicious adult beverage (strawberry basil margarita!!!!), Lisa made sure we were never without water (greatly appreciated after a day in the sun!), and we were checked on by the manager, Josh who made sure everything was too our liking. We had a very memorable evening.

Overall, we would definitely stay here again for another stay-cation and for any out of town guests, you can't beat the location. It's super close to the beach and SeaWorld and a close drive to downtown and the Zoo.

Wow, what a hotel this is.
Situated in the amazing Mission Beach area of San Diego, it is within walking distance of a number of shops although if you want to get into the heart of the restaurants and bars down by Mission Beach, you are best to get a quick cab ride.

The hotel itself is lovely, with its small private beach, the rooms are relatively basic, but are comfortable. Parking is plenty, and you can park right outside your room.

The swimming pool and large jacuzzi are fantastic, very big, and not very crowded - same for the onsite gym. The restaurant and bar are also nice and offer a relaxed approach.

Well maintained and looked after hotel, offers a nice relaxing stay with lots of amenities onsite.

Room Tip: The main hotel block is slightly dated. One of the rooms on the outer rim wooden structures are bett...

Stayed here 41 yrs ago on our Honeymoon. Decided to go back for a beach/bay get-away with our sister & brother in law and had a great time. Perfect location for families and couples, too. Great pool for relaxing after salt water fun. Bayview room was recently remodeled and had good beds and a nice kitchenette. Staff were very friendly and welcoming; especially the front desk: Renet, Katelin and Kate! We will be back next year.

Room Tip: ask for the newly renovated rooms; our room on the corner had a great breeze way.

First impressions last, and here it was poor from the moment we arrived, and the attitude of the woman on reception was unbelievable. We arrived at 11.30pm and a smile and help with our luggage was expected but neither we available at this time of night. After checking in we asked directions to our room and we told to go to the right of the pool. It was our first visit, it was dark, were was the pool? Anyway, we did find our room, after a 5 minute walk. First impression of the room? What ids that smell, better open the windows. Closed the window and turned on the noisy air con unit. cooled the room but smell still there. The room faced north and had a good view be as it never saw the sun the balcony stayed damp, hence the smell.

Breakfasts were okay, but the dinner menu restricted. Service, acceptable, although one morning my coffee cup that was on the table had not been washed from the previous day.

Location was in easy reach of the sea front and beach/coastal walks.

The gardens were kept clean and up together.

My fiance and I chose this spot as our #1 location to have our wedding at. Looking at their website I was so amazed at the beauty. Was I wrong. Pictures can sure be deceiving. They don't tell you that you will be waiting in a somewhat busy parking lot while you wait to walk down the aisle. Not my first choice to be possibly run over by a delivery truck on my wedding day. Also there was duck feces all over the walkways as well as feathers, not very sanitary. The worst part though I would have to say is the customer service. I had called and made an appointment with their wedding advisors, and was informed that once I got there I should just go to the front desk and they would help me from there. My fiance and I arrived 15 mins early for our appointment, parked in the guest parking and was immediately told we had to move our car. We informed them that we were there for a meeting with the wedding coordinator and was promptly told that we couldn't be more than 20 mins. Quickly we go inside to have them ask us very rudely if we needed anything. I told them we had called and had an appointment. They took their time to call down to catering and were informed that they would not be coming to help us. I feel if people are coming to your establishment to spend over thousands of dollars you would treat them better, especially if they came ready to put their down payment for the event. To say the least they promptly gave us a map of the grounds and said, "you can find your own way." Never will I recommend anyone to host their wedding or any kind of event here. We quickly left and to our surprise stopped down at the Hyatt which is just down the street from this establishment, they greeted with warm smiles and even though we did not have an appointment they gladly showed us the grounds and venues. If they had even tried to be cordial or inviting I still think I may have gone with the Bahia as my location for my destination wedding, but customer service is everything and they did very poorly.

it was my first time to stay with a family in this resort. It was so awesome as there are so many things to do for the entire family. Our room was equipped with kitchen and it was a walk a few feet away to the water from our room. There are water sports and a boat that takes you cruising around.a mile away is the mission beach and restaurants.even close to shops and stores if you need anything.

Room Tip: we were close to the water and the office but it was still quiet.
