The courtyards of grass and cottonwoods were a refreshing way to wake each morning. The older sandstone buildings and historic pueblo style buildings made me a little nervous that the rooms might not have immediate hot water, but the hot water come on immediately. I can see 100 improvements since the new owners took over, such as fresher and healthier food, renewed bathrooms, and a staff with new energy.
For me, the burger was the best, and basic eggs were best for breakfast, The green chili stew was a little weak in the spice.
Staff were wonderful at making recommendations of how much time to spend in the park (they aren't allowed to recommend a tour guide), what to see in the surrounding area, etc.
The gift shop also has collector level jewelry and artifacts. I bought a made=in-the-usa Stetson hat!More
