Older building , but very well maintained. Staff continually working to keep the building in good repair. Our room on the second floor facing the pool was very clean and comfortable. Great king bed. Had a little balcony, but no chairs. Restaurant had very good food. Blue corn pancakes are not to be missed. As was the fry bread tacos. Prices comparable to other hotel restaurants. All the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed our stay while visiting the canyon. Would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Try to choose a room toward the back of the hotel. Very quiet.

It was a surprise to find such a lovely, well-run hotel after our 4 hour drive across Arizona to visit Canyon de Chelly, which is a gem in itself. The check-in went smoothly; I asked for a room overlooking the pool, and was able to get one. The room was clean, the beds very comfortable, the bathroom very nice with toiletries, the pool very refreshing in the heat of the summer; an oasis in a nicely landscaped area. And all so very peaceful and quiet. The restaurant was good; we enjoyed our fajitas in the evening, and breakfast in the morning. We got up very early (5:00am) to walk to the "white house" pueblo remains in Canyon de Chelly before the heat of the day got uncomfortable for climbing out of the canyon. A magical experience, no one around. So we had no complaints. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Just outside to entrance of Canyon De Chelly which I think is one of the best Canyons in the USA.
The check in was quick which was great after a long day drive. Room were good and very clean I don't think you can ask for much more. The only thing I say was a little bad is the food in the restaurant was not up to restaurant standard more like takeaway food.

Room Tip: Must go to Caynon De Chelly....

We found this older hotel well maintained, clean and comfortable. We checked in here after finding the Best Western to be dirty. The rooms facing the pool were clean and comfortable. Nothing is new but it is well taken care of. The rooms were medium sized and the beds were comfortable. The best part of the staff. They were friendly and quietly attentive. I thought the food in the restaurant was pretty good. Try the Navajo Taco and the peach cobbler. It is not gourmet, but you should not expect it to be considering the Canyon de Chelly is often the beaten track. The pool is small but clean. The gift shop has lots of lovely things made by the Navajo and other tribes. Canyon de Chelly itself which must be entered with Navajo guides is well worth the trip. It is one of the very special places on earth.

Room Tip: try to get a room with sliding doors facing the pool. The cost more but are worth it. Don't forg...

Stopped here during our route 66 tour. I have got to say it is very, very poor but there seems to be few options in Chinle. I have attached a few photos of the broken electrics, dirty bath etc but I am afraid attaching the smell is not possible.
You can take my word for it the real thing is worse!

On the upside the staff at the privately run café/diner were brilliant (not at all like the staff on reception) If you need to get out the hotel (and you will) the Canyon is amazing – don’t by pass it, it is breathtaking.

Room Tip: It is what it is

We did a tour of sites in Northern Arizona. Chinle is home to Canyon de Chelly, which is in a remote area. There is not much at all in the town, and lodging options are limited to the Holiday Inn and Best Western, plus a lodge within the park.

Our experience here was fine - the room was neat and spacious, but nothing fancy. The room A/C unit was working hard, since the outdoor temp was 90 degrees, but the room was plenty cold. My brother did not have a functioning A/C and he was relocated into a different room with no hassle.

The king bed was fairly comfortable, but felt like the mattress was on a slant. It also had a bit of a trampoline effect, so whenever one of us moved, the whole bed seemed to bounce.

We opted for the Best Western restaurant for dinner, but stayed on property for breakfast at Garcia's. Portions were generous and the meal was fine. Again, nothing fancy, but it got the job done.

There was a pool on the grounds although we did not use it. We used our AAA membership to have a preferential nightly rate at the hotel.

Room Tip: We did not see an elevator to get to the 2nd level, so a ground floor room may be preferred.
